After 5 years of launching the "Creative Miners" movement, 1,095 individuals have been awarded 2.19 billion VND. Every year, the Vietnam Coal and Mineral Corporation's Trade Union receives 30-50 Creative Labor Certificates from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor. Some notable research projects that have yielded high efficiency include: applying mechanization to tunnel excavation and mining in underground mines; researching the integration of ventilation control and mine gas monitoring systems; researching the design and manufacture of high-capacity conveyor belts; manufacturing cable car hoists for transporting people; applying mechanization to production and blasting in open-pit mines; and applying high-capacity mechanized equipment to reduce costs, increase productivity, and improve safety.

Some outstanding national-level innovative projects include: “Research on applying technical and technological solutions to support and maintain the stability of mine tunnels during mining operations in underground coal mines in the Quang Ninh region” by the author. In 2024, the Company's employees had about 250 initiatives applied to production and business. Typical is the initiative "Adjusting the distance between mining layers combined with digging diagonal upper shafts to increase the coal recovery rate at the production area of Seam 10, North Wing layer +2129/+327" by the group of authors Do Van Tinh, Nguyen Quoc Hoi , Le Van Nang (Mining Workshop 10).

According to Mr. Do Van Tinh, Deputy Manager of Mining Workshop 10, before implementing the initiative, the coal recovery rate only reached 50% of the assigned plan due to the seam having many interbedded rock layers, a thin seam length of 3.33m, and an average seam slope of 45 degrees. After applying the solution of adjusting the distance between mining layers combined with the excavation of inclined upper pillars, the coal recovery rate in the production area of seam 10, North Wing, levels +2129/+327, increased to 60%, and can be applied to production areas with similar conditions. The profit from applying the initiative is over 5.5 billion VND.
