- On October 29, the Agricultural Extension Center organized the 2024 Agricultural Extension Seminar with the theme "solutions for intensive star anise cultivation to increase value and sustainable development".

Star anise has been grown in the province for a long time, is a key crop, and has high economic value. Currently, the whole province has over 48 thousand hectares of star anise, the output of dried star anise in the past 4 years has reached from 10 thousand to 16 thousand tons, the estimated value is 1,700 billion VND. In the province, there are currently 4 enterprises, 14 cooperatives, 17 business households and individuals participating in the production, business and processing of star anise products, with a preliminary processing scale of 10 to 800 tons of dried star anise.

In recent years, people's awareness of economic development from star anise has been increasingly raised. People have focused on selecting quality seedlings, gradually applying science and technology to production, intensively cultivating star anise, contributing to improving the productivity, output and quality of star anise.

However, in reality, the cultivation and processing of star anise in the area still faces many difficulties and limitations such as: the application and expansion of scientific research topics on star anise are not yet widespread, there is no attention paid to tree care; the harvesting, drying, preserving and processing of star anise are still mainly done by manual methods...
