In the context of Vietnam officially launching the roadmap to build a carbon market, with a pilot phase from June 2025 to the end of 2028 and full operation from 2029, green transformation has become an urgent requirement for businesses.
To accompany the business community on this journey, the Green Future Fund in collaboration with Dan Tri newspaper organized an online discussion "Green growth and carbon market - Where do businesses start?".
The event will take place at 9am on May 26 and will be broadcast live on Dan Tri newspaper, YouTube, Dan Tri newspaper Facebook and Green Future Fund Facebook.
The seminar was attended by Dr. Le Hai Hung, Director of the Institute for Research and Application of Technology (IRAT), member of the Science and Technology Board - Vietnam Lighting Association. With an academic background from the Institute of Technical Physics - Hanoi University of Science and Technology and rich practical experience, Dr. Hung is currently a leading expert in the field of technology, environment and green transformation.
He is also the author of many pioneering initiatives, especially in popularizing energy-saving LED lights in Vietnam, and has also consulted and implemented lighting solutions for key national projects such as Deo Ca, Cu Mong, and Hai Van tunnels.
In addition, he actively trains and instructs businesses on greenhouse gas emissions inventory, an important step to access the carbon market and improve competitiveness in the context of globalization.

At the seminar, Dr. Le Hai Hung will share in-depth perspectives, focusing on two key topics:
Greenhouse gases and the greenhouse effect - The scientific basis of climate action: Presents basic concepts of greenhouse gases, the causes and impacts of the greenhouse effect on global climate change, thereby clarifying the link between human emissions and environmental and economic risks that businesses need to identify early.
Overview of the carbon market - What businesses need to know: Provides an overview of the carbon market, including concepts, operating principles, key mechanisms and implementation trends in Vietnam. The speaker will also explain why businesses need to proactively approach this market as an essential part of their sustainable development and international integration strategies.
The organizers said that in addition to providing updated information, the seminar is also a forum for businesses, especially small and medium enterprises, to discuss and find suitable solutions. With the challenges and opportunities that the carbon market brings, the program will help businesses understand their role in building a low-carbon economy, while better preparing for the requirements of sustainable development in the future.
Readers and businesses who have questions for the speakers or want to share about the content mentioned in the discussion can send them to the organizers.
