The discussion was organized by Duy Son Commune People's Committee and Tra Kieu Five Communes Ethnic Council on May 4, with the theme "Land and people of Tra Kieu Five Communes" and contributed ideas to build a special publication about this land.
At the discussion, experts, historical and cultural researchers, and delegates from Da Nang, Quang Nam , Ho Chi Minh City, etc. contributed many opinions on the origin of the name "Tra Kieu", the history, characters, etc. of the Five Communes of Tra Kieu from the past to the present.
Tra Kieu is a sacred land, the capital of the once glorious Champa kingdom. According to historical documents, Tra Kieu village was formed about 553 years ago (1471), since the time when 13 ancestors left Thanh - Nghe - Tinh and other places in the North to follow King Le Thanh Tong with swords to destroy the enemy and open the country and in turn chose this land to establish Tra Kieu village. This used to be the leading unit of "Quang Nam three great communes".
To commemorate the noble merits of the ancestors, during the reign of King Hy Tong, the year of Chanh Hoa (1680), the elders of the clans and sects built the Ngu Xa Tra Kieu ancestral temple.
The flow of time has further increased the depth of Tra Kieu in all aspects of literature, martial arts and handicrafts. In terms of national defense and people's security, Tra Kieu's contribution is not small.
In the past, in Ngu Xa land, there was a Commander Mac Canh Huong who fought in battles, both literary and martial, helping the Nguyen Lords to open up the land. In the 1930s of the 20th century, there were revolutionary predecessors who sacrificed themselves for the country and the people.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tai - Chairman of the Council of Tra Kieu Five Communes said: "For hundreds of years, despite the division of the territory, the hearts of the people of Ngu Xa remain the same. The Ngu Xa Ancestral Temple is considered a common house, worshiping the ancestors who built and defended the country, and built Tra Kieu village. With such great significance, the Tra Kieu Five Commune Temple (located in Tra Chau village, Duy Son commune) was ranked by the state as a national historical relic in 2005. Every year, on holidays and Tet, generations of Ngu Xa descendants gather here to worship and burn incense to commemorate the merits of their ancestors."
At the discussion, the organizing committee also recorded many opinions from experts, historical and cultural researchers, and delegates contributing ideas on thematic ideas, concepts, and content layout to build the publication "Land and People of Ngu Xa Tra Kieu" in the coming time.
