Tu Lien Bridge and its approach roads have a total length of 11.5 km, spanning the Red River and Duong River. The total investment is expected to be around VND20,000 billion. This will be the second cable-stayed bridge (after Nhat Tan Bridge) to be built in Hanoi.
According to the Hanoi Capital Transport Development Plan to 2030, with a vision to 2050, Tu Lien Bridge is one of 18 road projects to be built across the Red River. The total preliminary investment is about 20,000 billion VND. Photo: Quyhoach.hanoi.vn.
Tu Lien Bridge and its approach roads have a total length of about 11.5 km. Of which, Tu Lien Bridge is 2.9 km long, the main bridge is 1 km long, with a cross-section size ensuring 6 lanes for motor vehicles, 2 mixed lanes and 2 pedestrian lanes. The bridge connects Nghi Tam Street, near Thang Loi Hotel (Tay Ho District) with Dong Hoi Commune (Dong Anh District). In the photo is the proposed location to build Tu Lien Bridge across the Red River and Duong River.
According to the planned plan, Tu Lien bridge will be located in Dong Hoi commune (Dong Anh). The bridge runs parallel to Ngu Huyen Khe river from the culvert to Duong river (Xuan Canh).
According to the plan, the bridge connects West Lake, the section through Thang Loi Hotel, through Bac Cau to Dong Anh.
In Tay Ho district, the road connecting to Tu Lien bridge area is currently a residential area and peach and kumquat growing area.
From the construction site of Tu Lien bridge, you can see Long Bien bridge, Chuong Duong bridge...
... and see Nhat Tan bridge.
Not only reducing the load on Chuong Duong bridge, Tu Lien bridge also reduces the load on Dong Tru bridge, creating a convenient route to the inner city as well as Dong Anh instead of having to go through Chuong Duong bridge.
At the inauguration ceremony of Vinh Tuy 2 Bridge in August 2023, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested Hanoi to urgently study solutions to reduce traffic congestion, including building Tu Lien Bridge, in addition to Hong Ha and Me So Bridges. In the photo is a perspective of Tu Lien Bridge.
