The whole province recorded 125 new HIV infections.

According to the Provincial Center for Disease Control, since the beginning of the year, the province has recorded 125 new HIV infections, down more than 36% compared to the same period in 2024; there were 8 cases of HIV progressing to AIDS.

Currently, the HIV infection rate in the province is at 1.9%, equivalent to 3,590 cases/nearly 1.9 million people. The provincial health sector continues to implement many HIV prevention and control activities such as: Organizing HIV counseling and testing for more than 45,000 people; treating opioid addiction with Methadone for more than 1,500 people; 668 people participating in PrEP infection prevention treatment. The whole province currently has nearly 1,600 patients receiving ARV treatment, accounting for more than 82% of the number of people living with HIV/AIDS being managed.

This result shows that HIV/AIDS prevention and control in Khanh Hoa is on the right track, reducing the source of infection, improving the quality of treatment and gradually controlling the epidemic sustainably.
