Vietnam 0-2 Uzbekistan.
" I am satisfied with the players' synchronization and concentration. However, I am not satisfied with the times when the team can convert situations from no ball to having the ball to counterattack, as well as a few times when the ball was misplaced and the opponent easily won it back ," coach Troussier shared.
The Vietnamese team lost to Uzbekistan. This was the team's second defeat in just a few days, before that it was against China. Coach Troussier's players continued to expose problems in both defense and attack and conceded two goals. The team did not score any goals.
" We are facing an opponent that everyone knows is much stronger than the Vietnamese team. Therefore, our goal in this match is to focus on organizing good defense without the ball ," said coach Troussier.
Coach Troussier is not satisfied with the playing style of the Vietnamese team.
" The three opponents of the Vietnamese team this October are all stronger. In addition, we have to play away. In particular, in these matches, we have to focus more on perfecting and doing well in defensive control and open situations ," the French coach added.
Although not satisfied with the technical aspects, the head coach of the Vietnamese team highly appreciated the spirit of his players. He and the whole team will analyze the tape and learn from the experience to prepare for the match with Korea.
" Against our opponents Korea, we need to further improve and strengthen our defensive organization in open situations. Against strong teams like Uzbekistan or Korea, I think the team can only control 30-35% of the ball. The remaining time without the ball must have good defensive organization and discipline.
The match against Uzbekistan is a good test for the whole team to understand that the next match will be even more difficult. The players must focus more on defensive moments, improve, and make more use of opportunities from transition situations ," Mr. Troussier emphasized.
The Vietnamese team will travel to Korea before meeting the host team on October 17.
