Overseas Vietnamese hope that the authorities will have favorable visa policies for citizens of the two countries, promote people-to-people exchanges, and strengthen the traditional friendship between the two countries and peoples.

According to the special correspondent of VNA, within the framework of the official visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan, on the afternoon of April 8 local time, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and his wife Nguyen Thi Thanh Nga and the high-ranking delegation of the Vietnamese National Assembly met with officials and staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in the Russian Federation and Uzbekistan and the Vietnamese community in Uzbekistan.

At the meeting, representatives of the Vietnamese community in Uzbekistan affirmed that they always turn towards their homeland and country, unite, help each other, and gradually integrate into the host country.

People expressed their hope that the authorities would pay attention and have favorable visa policies for citizens of the two countries, contributing to promoting people-to-people exchanges and strengthening the traditional friendship between the two countries and peoples.

On behalf of the Party and State leaders, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man sent to the Ambassador, Embassy staff and the entire Vietnamese community in Uzbekistan warm regards and affection from home.

Informing the people about the country's achievements after nearly 40 years of Doi Moi, the National Assembly Chairman said that despite many difficulties and challenges from the impacts of the world and regional political-economic situation, under the leadership of the Party and the solidarity and consensus of the entire political system, the country has achieved important results in socio-economic development.

In 2024, GDP growth will reach 7.09%. Per capita income will reach nearly 4,700 USD, among the countries with high growth rates in the region and the world, highly appreciated by many large and prestigious international organizations.

Vietnam has established diplomatic relations with nearly 200 countries; become one of the 40 largest economies in the world, in the top 20 trading countries, ranked 32nd in the top 100 strongest national brand values ​​in the world...

National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man emphasized: "Achieving this result is the effort of the entire Party, people and army, including the important contribution of the overseas Vietnamese community."

Appreciating the Vietnamese community in Uzbekistan for always being united, living, studying and working stably in the locality, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man affirmed that this is an important bridge for the relationship between the two countries in the past, present and future.

National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man stated: The consistent policy of our Party and State is to always care for and consider the overseas Vietnamese community as an inseparable part, an important factor contributing to strengthening the cooperative and friendly relations between Vietnam and other countries.

The National Assembly has amended and supplemented many new regulations and policies for Vietnamese people living abroad such as the Law on Identity Cards, the amended Land Law, etc., which stipulate that all Vietnamese citizens are granted identity cards, regardless of whether they live in the country or abroad; land policies for Vietnamese people living abroad are the same as for individuals living in the country.

Highlighting the visit of the high-ranking delegation of the Vietnamese National Assembly to Uzbekistan with the desire to comprehensively upgrade relations with Central Asian countries in all fields, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man said that in the immediate future, he will consider opening a direct flight between Vietnam and Uzbekistan and consider reopening the Vietnamese Embassy in Uzbekistan soon.

National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man hopes that people will continue to promote the tradition of mutual love, solidarity, and compliance with local laws, contributing to the development of Uzbekistan and the Vietnam-Uzbekistan relationship; preserve the Vietnamese language and national cultural identity; and continue to contribute their enthusiasm and intelligence to the cause of building and developing their homeland./.
