Van Don Special Economic Zone has a rapid urbanization rate and strong trade development, making the security and order situation complicated. Along with that, the number of seasonal workers and non-locals coming to reside and work has increased, giving rise to many potential risks of crime and law violations.
Realizing this pressure, the police force has identified propaganda and mass mobilization as the fundamental solution to raise people's awareness and limit violations early. Therefore, the police force has organized many small-scale propaganda sessions to each residential group and each different target group, ensuring that all important information about the law, security situation and prevention methods are promptly transmitted to the people.

Major Ngo Co Tam, Deputy Chief of Van Don Special Zone Police, said: One of the highlights is that the police force has closely coordinated with Party cell secretaries, village chiefs, heads of front work committees and grassroots security forces to deploy a direct propaganda model to each household. These meetings do not only stop at disseminating legal regulations, but also help the police force grasp the thoughts, aspirations and difficulties of the people, thereby adjusting the propaganda content to suit the reality. Thanks to that, many problems related to residence, temporary absence registration, temporary residence, or conflicts in the community have been quickly resolved right at the grassroots level, limiting the emergence of complicated conflicts.
At the same time, the police force also promotes the application of information technology in propaganda. Social networking groups of villages and residential groups are used as a channel to quickly notify outstanding issues, suspicious subjects, new methods of criminals, or important recommendations on fire prevention, theft prevention, and fraud. This helps people access information in a timely manner, while improving the ability to respond and coordinate when incidents occur. Through online channels, many people proactively provide valuable information to help the authorities quickly handle incidents, promptly preventing many risks of insecurity and order.
Along with propaganda, Van Don special zone police also increased inspections, monitored households, monitored people, and strictly managed conditional business establishments, boarding houses, and places with a large concentration of non-local workers. Inspections were organized regularly and always combined with explanations and instructions, helping owners raise their awareness of law compliance. Thanks to that, many violations were corrected from the beginning, preventing complicated developments. Night patrols were also maintained continuously, especially in border areas where there was a high risk of theft or disorder, especially at the end of the year. This activity not only contributed to reducing the number of incidents but also created peace of mind for people and increased trust in the local authorities.
In crime prevention, the police force has focused on building a movement for the entire population to protect national security. The models of "Self-managed security teams", "Peaceful villages", "Safe families in terms of security and order"... have been maintained and expanded, with the active participation of many households. People are more proactive in monitoring, detecting and reporting, no longer indifferent to public security issues. Thanks to the close coordination between the police force and the community, many violations have been prevented very early, contributing to a significant reduction in the crime situation compared to previous years.

An important factor that helps the work of ensuring security and order in Van Don achieve positive results is the sense of responsibility and closeness of the police force to the people. With the motto "taking the people as the root", each officer and soldier always considers firmly grasping the area and understanding the people as understanding their own family as a key task. They regularly go to the grassroots, contact, listen, and do not hesitate to go to each house to mobilize and explain when disputes arise or when people lack understanding of the law. It is this closeness and dedication that has built trust, respect and willingness to cooperate of the people.
The results achieved show that the model of promoting the role of the police force in propaganda and maintaining security and order in Van Don special economic zone is the right direction and needs to be further expanded. In the coming time, the police force will continue to innovate propaganda content, promote the application of technology, strengthen coordination with mass organizations, and at the same time improve the professional qualifications and skills of officers directly performing tasks at the grassroots level.
