The HOPE Center has only been in operation for 4 months but has contributed to the success of Ho Chi Minh City's Covid-19 prevention and control work and has affirmed the Party and State's policy of "leaving no one behind" during the Covid-19 pandemic.
On April 5, the City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City held a meeting with members of the Center for Care of Newborns with Mothers Infected with SARS-CoV-2 (HOPE Center) to express gratitude to the force that participated in contributing to the health care of newborns whose mothers were infected with Covid-19 and were quarantined.
Attending the event were comrades: Nguyen Truong Son, Deputy Minister of Health ; Nguyen Phuoc Loc, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; Duong Anh Duc, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee.

At the meeting, Associate Professor, Doctor, Doctor Hoang Thi Diem Tuyet, Director of Hung Vuong Hospital, shared that nearly 2 years ago, when the Covid-19 pandemic was at its peak in Ho Chi Minh City, many newborns were born during this difficult time, when their mothers unfortunately contracted Covid-19, endangering their lives. Understanding that difficulty, under the direction of the leaders of the Ministry of Health , the leaders of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee and the Department of Health, Hung Vuong Hospital established the HOPE Center with the aim of supporting and caring for newborns whose mothers were infected with Covid-19 during the period when their families could not afford to take them home.
"With determination, a high sense of responsibility and especially a big heart, Hung Vuong Hospital staff and volunteers have overcome difficulties and challenges that at times seemed helpless, but have tried to overcome them all to complete their mission after 4 months of operation," Associate Professor, Doctor, Doctor Diem Tuyet informed.

The HOPE Center has only been in operation for 4 months but has contributed to the success of Ho Chi Minh City's Covid-19 prevention and control work and has affirmed the Party and State's policy of "leaving no one behind" during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The center has safely and effectively cared for 259 newborns born to pregnant women with Covid-19. Hospital staff and volunteer teams are very proud that in the fight, they were not selfish for themselves but joined the political system and the entire population to fight the epidemic.
Speaking at the meeting, Comrade Nguyen Phuoc Loc, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, expressed that this was an emotional meeting. He highly appreciated the efforts of the health sector, Hung Vuong Hospital and all volunteers of the HOPE Center during the recent pandemic.
On behalf of the leaders of Ho Chi Minh City, comrade Nguyen Phuoc Loc expressed his gratitude to the Board of Directors for proposing the initiative to establish the HOPE Center; the effective participation of the medical staff of Hung Vuong Hospital and the companionship of the volunteer team, the Women's Union... to protect newborns whose mothers unfortunately contracted Covid-19.

“The leaders of Ho Chi Minh City always respect, acknowledge, appreciate and will never forget the contributions of medical staff, volunteers and nannies of the HOPE Center, which have helped the center fulfill the mission assigned by the city leaders,” comrade Nguyen Phuoc Loc shared and thanked the individuals and groups that have contributed to making Ho Chi Minh City a livable and beautiful city like today.
On this occasion, the City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City presented gifts to staff, workers, and volunteers of the HOPE Center, praising and honoring individuals who actively contributed during the time the center carried out its mission of caring for newborns whose mothers were infected with Covid-19 but whose families could not afford to take them home.
According to comrade Nguyen Phuoc Loc, during the days when Ho Chi Minh City was struggling to fight the epidemic, Deputy Minister of Health Nguyen Truong Son, on behalf of the Ministry of Health, directly directed the epidemic prevention work in Ho Chi Minh City and the southern provinces.
In all fronts, the field of epidemic prevention related to the health sector has the mark of Deputy Minister of Health Nguyen Truong Son in directing, working closely and operating. Ho Chi Minh City always recognizes the contributions of the Deputy Minister of Health in epidemic prevention work in the city.
