On October 6, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs , at the invitation of General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea Kim Jong Un, General Secretary To Lam will pay a state visit to North Korea and attend the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Workers' Party of Korea from October 9 to 11.

On January 31, 1950, North Korea and Vietnam officially established diplomatic relations. This year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
Previously, on the occasion of the 77th anniversary of the National Day of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (September 9, 1948 - September 9, 2025), General Secretary To Lam and President Luong Cuong sent a joint congratulatory message to General Secretary and Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea Kim Jong Un; Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh sent a congratulatory message to Premier of the Cabinet of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea Pak Thae Song.
In the congratulatory message, the Vietnamese high-ranking leaders congratulated the important achievements that the Party, State and people of the DPRK have attained over the past 77 years; were pleased with the progress of the Vietnam-DPRK relationship after the official friendship visit to Vietnam by Chairman Kim Jong Un in March 2019; and expressed their wish to continue to develop the relationship between the two Parties and the two countries in a more substantial and effective manner, in accordance with the interests of the two peoples, contributing to maintaining peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.
On October 2, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien attended a reception to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Workers' Party of Korea (October 10, 1945 - October 10, 2025).
