Receiving Mr. Seo Seung Min, Director of Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam branch of Korea Environment Corporation (K-eco) at the office of the Vietnamese Consulate General in Busan, Consul General Doan Phuong Lan highly appreciated the "Hi-Five Safety Project" that K-eco is promoting to support foreign workers, including Vietnamese workers, to avoid risks of occupational accidents due to language and cultural barriers and limitations in housing and medical conditions.
Consul General Doan Phuong Lan affirmed that the Vietnamese Consulate General in Busan will actively support the project within its scope of functions, in which it will closely coordinate with K-eco so that the project can reach more and more Vietnamese workers in the Southeast region of Korea, contributing to improving working conditions and supporting the Vietnamese labor community to better integrate in the host country.
Busan, Ulsan, Gyeongnam areas have a large concentration of Vietnamese workers working in industrial parks and small and medium enterprises.
Korea Environment Corporation (K-eco) is under the Ministry of Environment of Korea.
The Hi-Five safety project is implemented by K-eco in collaboration with 12 other agencies/organizations such as the Korea Industrial Park Corporation, the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency, the Fire Department... to support foreign workers.
This project comprehensively supports five areas of safety in the lives of foreign workers, including: food, clothing, housing, health and culture, with the aim of preventing accidents and promoting social integration.
