Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on June 3 that Russian President Vladimir Putin is ready for dialogue to achieve the goals of the special military operation in ways other than the battlefield.

“President Putin was, is and will be open to any channels of communication aimed at achieving the goal of fulfilling our tasks by means other than special military operations,” Peskov said on the TV show “Moscow. Kremlin. Putin.”
The press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation stressed that such a possibility was hindered by Western countries, which did not offer any other options for resolving the conflict in Ukraine outside the battlefield.
Meanwhile, the transfer of Western weapons to Ukraine is still taking place regularly. On June 1, the Italian Gazzetta Ufficiale published a decree of the Italian Ministry of Defense on the transfer to Ukrainian government agencies of military vehicles, materials and equipment mentioned in a secret document drafted by the Italian General Staff.
According to the announcement in the official gazette, the vehicles, supplies and equipment will be transferred to Ukraine free of charge. Previously, on May 30, Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto informed the Parliamentary Intelligence Committee (COPASIR) of the new decree on supplying weapons to Ukraine.
Canada's CBC television also recently reported that Ukraine has privately expressed to Canada that it is dissatisfied with the pace of weapons transfers, and is calling for direct access to Canada's defense industry.
Officials in Kiev have told the Canadian government that arms deliveries should be expedited and urged them to create a more structured distribution system that would allow Ukraine to deal directly with Canadian arms manufacturers, the sources said.
Canada, along with other Western countries, has been supplying weapons to Ukraine since Russia began its military campaign in Ukraine in February 2022. Canada’s assistance, worth more than $1 billion, includes tanks, armored vehicles, howitzers and various defense systems.
