On September 3, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Deputy Foreign Minister Le Thi Thu Hang received Deputy Minister of Enterprise and Product of Italy Valentino Valentini on a working visit to Vietnam and co-chaired the Vietnam - Italy Business Forum.

Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang thanked the Italian Deputy Minister for his congratulations on the occasion of Vietnam's 80th National Day; emphasized that this is an important turning point for Vietnam as it enters a new era; and expressed her respect and gratitude for Italy's assistance to Vietnam in the war for independence as well as in the current national development process.

Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang highly appreciated the visit to Vietnam by the Italian Deputy Minister to co-chair the Vietnam - Italy Business Forum (September 4) with the participation of many businesses from both countries; believing that this is an opportunity for businesses from both countries to strengthen cooperation, especially in areas of current interest to Vietnam such as green energy, digital transformation, etc.

Regarding the relationship between Vietnam and Italy, Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang assessed that the two countries still have a lot of potential to promote cooperation in the coming time, especially in the field of economic cooperation; proposed that Italy support Vietnamese enterprises to improve their competitiveness, increase imports of Vietnamese products such as seafood, textiles, wooden products and invest more in Vietnam in the fields of agricultural processing, food, fashion, high technology, oil and gas, energy, seaport construction, etc.

Deputy Minister of Enterprise and Products of Italy Valentino Valentini thanked Vietnam for its good feelings for Italy, congratulated Vietnam on successfully organizing the 80th anniversary of National Day, emphasizing the feelings of many generations of Italian people for Vietnam since the years of war to protect the country.

Deputy Minister Valentino Valentini assessed that in the context of many changes in the world, both Italy and Vietnam need to pay attention to the fields of digital technology , green technology, energy, artificial intelligence, etc.; at the same time, solve challenges in energy balance, ensuring development while minimizing the impact on the environment.

With the coordinated activities organized with Vietnam during this visit to Vietnam such as the Energy Transition Seminar and the Vietnam - Italy Business Forum, Deputy Minister Valentini affirmed that Italian businesses are increasingly interested in the Vietnamese market and are ready to share experiences with Vietnam in solving the above challenges.

Appreciating the role and coordination between the two countries' Foreign Ministries, Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang and the Italian Deputy Minister of Enterprise and Product agreed that the two sides should closely coordinate to promote the Vietnam - Italy Strategic Partnership in the coming time, especially in areas of both sides' strengths and interests, meeting the development of Vietnam, Italy and the interests of the people of the two countries.
