Vietnam and Iran agree to expand sustainable cooperation

On the morning of October 27, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Minh Hang received Mr. Vahid Jalalzadeh, Deputy Foreign Minister of Iran, on the occasion of his visit to Vietnam to attend the signing ceremony of the United Nations Convention against Cybercrime in Hanoi.

Welcoming Deputy Minister Vahid Jalalzadeh and the Iranian delegation to visit Vietnam, Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hang affirmed that Vietnam always attaches importance to the friendly relations and multifaceted cooperation with Iran, and is ready to coordinate with the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to implement specific cooperation programs.

The two sides expressed their delight at the positive developments in Vietnam-Iran relations in recent times, and affirmed that both countries still have much room and potential to expand cooperation more practically, effectively and sustainably in the coming time.

Agreed to increase contacts at all levels, especially high levels, in Vietnam, Iran and on the sidelines of multilateral forums and conferences. The two sides also coordinate with each other at multilateral forums of which both sides are members.

The two Deputy Ministers affirmed to soon promote bilateral cooperation mechanisms, including the Political Consultation and the Vietnam-Iran Joint Commission, as well as restore joint working groups between the two countries.

For his part, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Vahid Jalalzadeh congratulated Vietnam on successfully organizing the signing ceremony of the Hanoi Convention, assessing this as clear evidence that Vietnam is ready to take on more important international roles in the coming time, contributing to global peace, security and development.

Deputy Minister Jalalzadeh stressed that the Iranian people have great affection and admiration for Vietnam and President Ho Chi Minh. He affirmed that Iran always attaches importance to the friendship and multifaceted cooperation with Vietnam, and wishes to continue promoting multifaceted cooperation, especially in the fields of trade, investment, science and technology, education and cultural exchange.
