According to TASS news agency, on April 16, Russian President Vladimir Putin met and worked with Chinese Defense Minister Li Shangfu in Moscow.
Previously, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced on April 14 that Mr. Ly Thuong Phuc will make his first foreign trip as Minister of Defense, to Russia from April 16-18.
He is scheduled to hold talks with his Russian counterpart Sergey Shoigu to discuss "the current state and prospects for developing bilateral cooperation in the defense sphere, as well as current global and regional security issues."
The meeting between Mr. Putin and the Chinese Defense Minister took place after Chinese President Xi Jinping's visit to Russia from March 20-22.
