On April 5, the Elysee Palace announced that during the phone call, the presidents agreed to persuade China to accelerate the goal of ending the conflict in Ukraine.
"The two leaders mentioned their common readiness to persuade China to accelerate the goal of ending the conflict in Ukraine and participate in building sustainable peace in the region," the statement said.
In addition, President Macron and his counterpart Biden both hope that China can contribute to solidarity efforts between the North and South hemispheres, as well as build a common agenda to address climate and biodiversity issues.
Also on April 5, Chinese television reported that President Macron arrived at Beijing's capital airport, beginning a 3-day visit.
This is Mr. Macron's first visit to Beijing in 3 years and just 5 months after meeting Chinese President Xi Jinping on the sidelines of the G20 Summit in Bali, Indonesia.
Previously, according to the announcement of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, during the visit, President Macron will meet with President Xi Jinping, Premier Li Qiang and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress Zhao Leji.
