Ho Chi Minh City to screen outdoor films within the framework of the 1st international film festival in 2024.

Specific movie screening schedules: from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. from April 7 to 12 at Nguyen Hue walking street (Ben Nghe ward, District 1) and from 7 to 10 p.m. at Saigon Riverside Park (Thu Thiem ward, Thu Duc city).

Here, the organizers will screen classic and typical films from Vietnam and the world , while also combining exchanges and meetings with famous domestic and international filmmakers, artists and actors, including generations of Ho Chi Minh City film actors.

In addition, this series of events also includes diverse and attractive art and accompanying activities.

This is the first time outdoor film screenings have been held in Ho Chi Minh City and are considered a new way to bring the public closer to cinema, similar to what Korea has done.

In Korea, outdoor cinemas are a familiar entertainment activity for "Korean movie fans". In September 2021, CGV opened an outdoor cinema in Incheon and another in Gwangju, Gyeonggi Province. In mid-2021, Lotte Cinema also opened an outdoor cinema in Busan. Cine Q cinema chain has also completed an outdoor cinema in Ulsan.

The 1st Ho Chi Minh City International Film Festival - HIFF 2024 officially opened on the evening of April 6 and will last until April 13.
