Ho Chi Minh City has just added many roads with continuous right-turn lanes to reduce congestion and create more convenient traffic conditions at key intersections.
This is a solution that the transportation industry considers effective in traffic flow and increasing the ability to escape vehicles at intersections that are often crowded.
In these areas, people are advised to absolutely not stop or park on the right-turn section of the road to avoid obstructing traffic and violating the law.
According to information from the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City, it is necessary to propagate compliance with the regulation of not stopping and parking within the area of the road turning right continuously to raise people's awareness. This is the content deployed after the Department received a document from the Department of Construction on disseminating and educating traffic safety laws to the city's residents.
For two-wheeled vehicles, the points with continuous right-turn lanes include the intersections of Pasteur - Ly Tu Trong; Ly Tu Trong - Dong Khoi; Nguyen Thi Minh Khai - Nam Ky Khoi Nghia; Nguyen Van Cu - Tran Hung Dao (from Phan Van Tri to Tran Hung Dao); Nguyen Trai - Nguyen Tri Phuong; An Duong Vuong - Nguyen Tri Phuong.
These sections are all designed to be 50 meters long and 1.5 meters wide, reserved for motorbikes to continuously turn right, creating a separate path from the main traffic flow, helping to reduce traffic conflicts.
For all vehicles, continuous right-turn lanes are arranged at some large intersections with high traffic density. Specifically, the Truong Dinh - Nguyen Thi Minh Khai intersection with a length of 50 m, a width of 3 m, the remaining traffic area is 8 m; the 3 Thang 2 - Thanh Thai intersection (50 m long, 4 m wide, the remaining traffic area is 10.5 m); the Phan Dang Luu - Hoang Van Thu and Phan Dinh Phung - Nguyen Kiem intersections (50 m long, 3 m wide, the remaining traffic area is 7.5 m). These designs both ensure that the right-turn traffic is not congested and keep the main lane more open.
The Department of Culture and Sports emphasized that the implementation of continuous right-turn lanes not only contributes to reducing traffic pressure but also helps raise awareness of law compliance among traffic participants.
When passing through these roads, people need to carefully observe signs and signals and be careful not to stop or park within the continuous right turn lane.
Complying with regulations not only ensures your own safety but also keeps traffic flowing in an orderly manner, reducing congestion at busy intersections.
