Ho Chi Minh City organizes excellent student competitions in all three regions on September 17 and 18.

(NLDO) - The Ho Chi Minh City education sector will select outstanding students from high schools to form a national team for the 2025-2026 school year.

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training has just issued a plan to organize a city-wide excellent student exam to participate in the national excellent student exam for the 2025-2026 school year.

Through the exam, the Department of Education and Training will select outstanding students from high schools to form a team to participate in the national excellent student exam for the 2025-2026 school year.

Exam subjects include: Literature, history, geography, math, physics, chemistry, biology, information technology, English, French, Chinese, Japanese.

Regulations: Each subject has 2 exams and is held in 2 morning sessions. Time for each exam: 180 minutes.

The second test of foreign languages ​​includes a listening test; the computer science test involves programming on a computer using the programming languages ​​C++, Pascal and Python.

According to the City Department of Education and Training, the candidates are students in grades 10, 11, and 12 in the 2025-2026 school year, with good or better academic and training results in the 2024-2025 school year.

Number of registrations:

+ Region 1 (formerly Ho Chi Minh City) and Region 3 (formerly Ba Ria-Vung Tau): Specialized schools and schools with specialized classes send at least 50% of students of specialized classes to take the exam in the specialized subject they are studying; high schools and general schools with high school level send a maximum of 5 students to take the exam in each subject.

+ Area 2 (old Binh Duong ): Students were selected through round 1 in February 2025 organized by the Department of Education and Training of Binh Duong province (old).

Principles for selecting the City's excellent student team: The exam is graded on a 20-point scale. Students participating in the exam will be considered for the City's selection team in order of priority from highest to lowest exam score (the exam score is the total score of the 2 exams).

Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training organized a ceremony to honor and reward excellent students in the 2024-2025 school year.

Students selected for the preliminary team will participate in review and training according to the time frame and instructions of the Department of Education and Training. After completing the training period, students will take the second round of the exam. Based on the results of the second round, the Department of Education and Training will select students from the preliminary team to join the official team of Ho Chi Minh City.

Students in the official team participating in the national excellent student selection exam in 2025 - 2026 must have good or better academic and training results in the first semester of the 2025 - 2026 school year, fully participate in training and pass the tests during the training process of the candidate team.

Grade 12 students in the official team will be recognized as excellent students at the city level for the 2025-2026 school year (first prize).

It is expected that by 5:00 p.m. on October 3, the results of the city-level excellent student exam for the 2025-2026 school year will be announced.

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training stipulates that principals of units with students in the selection team must ensure and create necessary conditions for students to fully participate in review and training sessions according to the approved plan.

In case a student is selected but does not participate or does not fully participate in the training process due to having to participate in other school activities, affecting the size and quality of the recruiting team, the principal of the unit is responsible to the Department of Education and Training.
