Ho Chi Minh City: Avoid missing children who have not been vaccinated against measles

According to information from the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health , on October 19, Ho Chi Minh City administered a total of 189 measles vaccine doses at 29 vaccination sites across the city. This number is equivalent to 100% completion of measles vaccination for children aged 1-10 years old.

As of October 19, the total number of measles vaccinations in the city was 221,873. Of these, children aged 1-5 years old had received 46,783 doses (100%), and children aged 6-10 years old had received 147,613 doses (100%).

However, Can Gio district and District 3 still have not reached the 95% measles vaccination rate.

The Department of Health recommends that the People's Committees of these districts need to speed up progress to achieve the campaign's goals in the district.

At the same time, districts that have achieved a rate of 95% or higher need to maintain updates on the situation of mobile children to avoid missing unvaccinated children.

On October 19, the city recorded 7 cases of rash fever suspected of measles (1 case of measles confirmed by laboratory, 6 cases of clinically suspected measles). 4/22 districts, towns and cities had cases of rash fever suspected of measles, including District 10 (1 case), Binh Tan District (1 case), Go Vap District (2 cases), Hoc Mon District (3 cases).

The total number of cumulative cases of suspected measles rash fever recorded to date is 1,490 (626 laboratory-confirmed measles cases, 576 clinically suspected measles cases and 288 cases excluded from measles). Districts with high cumulative cases of suspected measles rash fever include: Binh Chanh district (307 cases), Binh Tan district (279 cases) and Thu Duc city (165 cases).
