Tạp chí Doanh NghiệpTạp chí Doanh Nghiệp24/12/2024

A male doctor at a clinic in District 10, Ho Chi Minh City was "accused" of treating and abusing female patients.

On December 23, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health said it had received information from a young female patient's relative on Facebook about the unprofessional behavior of a male doctor when performing an ultrasound of the thyroid, heart, and abdomen. This incident occurred at the General Clinic of the Y Dao Medical Services Consulting Investment Joint Stock Company, located at 46-48 Ngo Quyen, Ward 5, District 10, Ho Chi Minh City.

Although the Department of Health has not yet received any petitions or information reflecting the incident from patients or relatives, in order to promptly grasp information, verify and rectify, the Department of Health Inspectorate has inspected the above clinic and related individuals.

Ho Chi Minh City: Verifying information about a doctor

The headquarters of the Y Dao General Clinic is located at 46-48 Ngo Quyen, Ward 5, District 10, Ho Chi Minh City.

Upon inspection, the doctor in question was able to provide the appropriate qualifications and practice licenses. He admitted to performing an ultrasound on the patient’s thyroid, heart, and abdomen. At the time of the ultrasound, there were two female staff in the room, and the patient did not object or complain during the procedure. However, the patient’s relatives later complained on social media about the doctor’s unprofessional behavior.

From this case, the Department of Health requires medical practitioners to strictly comply with legal regulations and professional ethics to ensure safety, respect and protect the rights of patients, especially women and children. Violators will be strictly handled according to legal regulations and condemned for violating medical ethics standards.

Last week, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health also inspected a number of other facilities related to press reports and hospital reports.

At Louis Academy Trading and Service Joint Stock Company (Dr. Han), although not operating in medical examination and treatment at the time of inspection, the social network account "Dr. Han Plastic Surgery" still advertised cosmetic services. At Gia Dinh General Hospital, the representative of this unit affirmed that "there is no cooperation contract with Dr. Han Cosmetic Clinic", but it received and performed surgery for customers referred by this facility. This hospital was also found to have violated "the practitioner is not registered to practice medical examination and treatment".

At Master Vu Vuong Company Limited (address 37 Hoa Hong, Phu Nhuan District), the Department Inspector also discovered that the company had not been granted an operating license by the Department of Health, had committed serious violations of the law, and caused serious complications for customers.

Violations have been handled and decisions announced on the Department of Health's information portal.
