Thu Duc City spends more than half a billion VND to reward excellent students

At the ceremony, the People's Committee of Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City awarded prizes to 522 excellent students of the 2023-2024 school year.

Of which, 13 students won prizes in international competitions; 5 excellent students at the national level; 245 excellent high school students; 222 excellent grade 9 students at the city level (including 06 first prizes, 72 second prizes and 144 third prizes);….

On this occasion, Thu Duc City People's Committee also honored and awarded 76 managers and teachers who have actively contributed to the training and fostering of excellent students.

Total reward budget is more than 525 million VND.

Mr. Nguyen Thai Vinh Nguyen, Head of the Department of Education and Training of Thu Duc City, said that to achieve the above results, the Department of Education and Training of Thu Duc City has directed schools to actively innovate management and teaching and learning methods.

In addition, during the teaching process, subject teachers always observe and evaluate using many solutions and methods to detect gifted students early.

From there, schools will have appropriate support methods for each student, helping them to strongly promote their strengths in studying, training, and scientific research.

"Not only that, the training of excellent and gifted students is also invested in by schools in each stage for each subject; guiding and guiding students from basic to advanced, helping them gradually grow in stability, from which they can achieve the best results" - Mr. Nguyen affirmed.

Speaking at the ceremony to honor excellent students, Mr. Nguyen Ky Phung, Vice Chairman of Thu Duc City People's Committee, praised and highly appreciated the efforts of teachers and students of the education and training sector of Thu Duc City for achieving proud achievements:

"Thu Duc City is a young city with many industrial parks and export processing zones located in the area, so the education sector also faces many difficulties in terms of student population pressure. However, in the past school year, the education sector of Thu Duc City continued to maintain and achieve the set targets.

In the coming time, teachers need to find more optimal solutions to encourage students to be studious, proactive, and creative in learning, especially in training self-study awareness and soft skills...

In addition, Thu Duc City also needs a high-quality center as the core in education in general and training excellent students in particular, to effectively implement the motto: "Mass education combined with key education";..." - Mr. Phung said.
