Today (November 21), the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee officially issued ticket prices for public passenger transport services on the Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien metro line (metro number 1).

specifically, the ticket price calculated by cash payment has the lowest level of 7,000 VND, the highest level of 20,000 VND; The lowest level of non-cash payment is 6,000 VND and the highest level of 19,000 VND.

For time-based tickets, passengers are not limited in the number of trips. The daily ticket price is 40,000 VND/person/ticket; 3-day ticket is 90,000 VND/person/ticket. For monthly tickets, general passengers are 300,000 VND/person/ticket; students are 150,000 VND/person/ticket.

Cases of ticket exemption and reduction will be implemented according to the resolution of the HCMC People's Council.

The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee also issued the price of public passenger transport by train for metro line No. 1 at VND341,910/km. This price includes the cost of labor to maintain the urban railway infrastructure, but does not include the cost of property insurance (fire, explosion) and electricity for machinery and equipment at the Depot, station, and control center.

Metro Line 1 is 20km long with 11 elevated stations and 3 underground stations. This project has a total investment of 43,700 billion VND, and is planned to be commercially exploited by the end of this year.

During the first 30 days of operation, Ho Chi Minh City will support all ticket prices to encourage people to experience metro line 1. It is expected that the budget will spend about 15.7 billion VND for free operation and 17.3 billion VND to support 17 bus routes connecting to the metro during the same period.

Ho Chi Minh City also plans to use a budget of 32.6 billion VND/year to support 100% of ticket prices for some policy beneficiaries.
