Tra Vinh: Organizing the Congress of Ethnic Minority Delegates at the district level in mid-May 2024

Mr. Le Thanh Binh awarded Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of Tra Vinh Provincial People's Committee to outstanding monks at the 8th Congress of Patriotic Monks of Tra Vinh Province, term 2023 - 2028.

According to Mr. Le Thanh Binh, in the remaining districts, the district-level congress must be completed before June 30. The number of delegates attending at the district level is 150 people.

The 4th Congress of Ethnic Minorities in Tra Vinh Province in 2024 will be completed before November 30 this year. The provincial delegates will have 250 people, who are typical representatives of ethnic minorities from all sectors and areas of social life, selected and honored from the grassroots level and ensuring that there are enough representatives of Vietnamese ethnic minorities residing in the area where the Congress is held.

Mr. Le Thanh Binh emphasized that Tra Vinh is the province with the highest proportion of Khmer people in the country. The congress continued to affirm the attention of the Party and State to ethnic minority areas and recognized the great contributions of ethnic minorities in poverty reduction, new rural construction, infrastructure development, and implementation of ethnic policies.

The Congress of Ethnic Minorities aims to evaluate the achievements and results of ethnic work, ethnic policies, infrastructure development, poverty reduction, and new rural construction in the period of 2019 - 2024. At the same time, honor and commend outstanding collectives and individuals among ethnic minorities in the cause of building, integrating, developing and protecting the country in the period of 2019 - 2024.
