The movie is called "Mystery" but this is not the real name, all information such as director, actors, story... is hidden to stimulate curiosity for the audience to go to the theater and explore .
From November 8-10, audiences will have a new experience when entering the cinema. That is choosing to watch the movie “Mystery” at BHD cinemas.
This is not the real name of the movie because viewers can only know it after entering the theater.
All that was revealed was that the film was only shown to audiences over 16 years old, without any introduction of content, posters, or information about the director or actors… Everything was kept secret, similar to the current trend of “blindly opening the bag” on the social network TikTok. This is unprecedented in Vietnamese cinemas.
BHD Deputy General Director - Ms. Ngo Thi Bich Hien said that the form of "blind film" screening has become familiar at major international film festivals such as Cannes (France), Sundance (USA) and Busan (Korea). Until now, the mysterious screening is still an activity that brings attraction and interesting experiences, there are even competitions to guess which works will be screened in these screenings.
“Accepting to be the distributor for the film 'Mystery' is part of our efforts, as a Vietnamese producer and distributor, to accompany young Vietnamese people full of passion and dreams, through movies to tell the stories and emotions of their generation” - Ms. Hien shared.
The film has strong fantasy elements, with humorous arguments in awkward situations that make viewers think.
The film director is a young and creative person, who chose cinema as a way to tell stories because he wanted to make the audience happy and excited. Ultimately, the author wants each audience member to connect with themselves and the people around them, to understand and sympathize with each other more.
“This is a positive film, I hope that whoever watches it will feel confident in life,” the director shared.
Along with the special screenings during the above 3 days, “Mystery” will also be screened in the Contemporary Vietnamese Film Program of this year’s Hanoi International Film Festival (HANIFF), at 8:00 p.m. on November 10 at BHD Pham Ngoc Thach Cinema./.
