According to the Chairman of the Hanoi Travel Association, Le Thanh Thao, Hanoi's autumn has its own charm, not only because of the cool weather, but also because each street, natural landscape, and cuisine becomes more prominent and attractive. Streets such as Phan Dinh Phung, Hoang Dieu, Ly Thuong Kiet... are covered with trees changing leaves, creating a unique romantic beauty. Along with that, the vibrant cultural and artistic life makes Hanoi an attractive destination in the fall.

For those who love to explore the heritage and culture of the capital, you can choose to join day or night tours at Thang Long Imperial Citadel, Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam, Hoa Lo Prison relic; or simply stroll around the Old Quarter, Hoan Kiem Lake, West Lake to feel the vibrant and romantic life of Hanoi. For food lovers, Hanoi autumn brings unforgettable flavors through specialties such as green rice, fried shrimp paste, shrimp cakes, fried fish...

Ms. Nguyen Hong Anh (from Ho Chi Minh City) shared that for many years now, every autumn, she and her group of friends have gone to Hanoi to enjoy the atmosphere and participate in attractive festivals. Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tung, a son of Hanoi living far from home, confided: "Every time I return in autumn, I just want to slow down, sit in a corner of a small coffee shop on Nha Tho Street, sip egg coffee, and enjoy sticky rice with friends."

With the determination to affirm the brand "Attractive Autumn Destination", this year, Hanoi organized many big events, bringing visitors rich experiences. In October, the Capital coordinated with the central ministries, departments and branches to organize the first Hanoi World Cultural Festival at Thang Long Imperial Citadel; the Autumn Fair 2025 is taking place (from October 25 to November 4) at the Vietnam Exhibition Center (VEC - Dong Anh commune, Hanoi) attracting thousands of visitors every day with many unique trade and cultural promotion activities.

In particular, from November 1 to 16, the Thang Long - Hanoi Festival 2025 will be held for the first time on a large scale with more than 30 cultural, artistic and tourism activities spread across heritage spaces such as Thang Long Imperial Citadel, Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam, Hanoi Museum, Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square, Ngoc Son Temple...

Deputy Director of the Tourism Promotion Center (Hanoi Department of Tourism) Nguyen Huu Viet said that the unit has promoted communication on international platforms such as Agoda and Traveloka, and coordinated with travel agencies and accommodation establishments to include a series of events and festivals in autumn tours for international visitors.

Positioning a strong tourism brand for the Capital

Recently, Time Out Magazine voted Hanoi as an ideal destination to see autumn leaves. Previously, in 2024, CNN also voted Hanoi in the top 12 most attractive destinations in the world in autumn. This further affirms the attractiveness of Hanoi's autumn to domestic and foreign tourists.

Director of Hanoi Department of Tourism Dang Huong Giang said that Hanoi advocates developing four-season tourism, in which its strength is autumn tourism, focusing on developing products and events in autumn to affirm the destination brand, while increasing its attractiveness to tourists.

Discussing further about building effective autumn tourism products in Hanoi, becoming a "specialty", Vice President of Hanoi Tourism Association Nguyen Tien Dat said that, in addition to regularly organizing periodic events and festivals at the best times (from September to November), Hanoi should promote the culinary advantages, shopping from craft village products and have more experiences of ripe rice season tourism in new rural areas.

On October 27, the Hanoi Department of Tourism announced the results of tourism activities in the first 10 months of 2025, and introduced a series of exciting plans for the last two months of the year - considered the "golden season" of tourism in the capital. Accordingly, the city will promote the implementation of new tourism products, notably the night experience tour at the special national relic Soc Temple (Soc Son commune). In addition, Hanoi also focuses on developing community-based tourism products, aiming to deeply exploit indigenous cultural values; agricultural and rural tourism products in Bat Trang and Ung Hoa, contributing to creating a colorful picture for suburban tourism.

According to the Department of Tourism, in October, the number of tourists, especially international visitors, maintained a positive growth momentum with the total number of visitors estimated at 2.27 million, up 8.9% over the same period in 2024; of which, international visitors reached 695 thousand, up 17.8%. Director of the Hanoi Department of Tourism Dang Huong Giang said that the impressive results of the 10 months will help the capital's tourism industry accelerate in the last two months of the year, especially when Hanoi is entering the "golden season" of tourism.

“Hanoi is affirming its autumn tourism brand and positioning it as a strong tourism product, attracting tourists. Diversifying products, promoting digital transformation, strengthening regional connectivity and improving service quality will be key pillars in the coming period,” Ms. Dang Huong Giang emphasized.
