Spring outings and festivals take place from the beginning of the year. Each commune in Tua Chua district has its own playground, most concentrated in Sinh Phinh commune, which is chosen to host the Mong flute performance competition, goat fighting competition and folk games.
Thanks to the diversity of spring activities, the cultural space recreated at the spring festival is imbued with the cultural identity of indigenous peoples, attracting a large number of people and tourists from all over the country to attend.
The highlight of the Tua Chua spring festival is the goat fighting activity. The big, fat, strong and healthy goats are the result of the labor and production process of the people. The goat fighting festival is an opportunity to honor the owners of skilled goats; it is an opportunity to meet, exchange and learn experiences in raising and caring for goats from the local people.
A special activity at the spring festival is the Mong flute performance competition. Unlike previous years, the Mong flute performance at this year's spring festival is invested in more carefully. The carefully invested flute dances and performances not only carry the strong sounds of the highlands, the sound of the flute calling friends, expressing feelings, but also recreate the rituals, customs and practices from thousands of years ago, closely associated with the working life of the Mong people in Tua Chua district.
Although the competition, goat fighting, and Mong flute competition took place over two days, the entertainment activities, spring outings, experiencing folk games, enjoying local cuisine , shopping, renting traditional costumes, etc. of locals and tourists at the spring festival venues still took place until the full moon of January.
Going to the spring festival in the highlands of Tua Chua will certainly be an unforgettable experience for visitors from all over. Come and explore the Northwest; watch the crowds of people dressed in colorful costumes; immerse yourself in the traditional cultural space of the indigenous people, enjoy the cuisine and the pristine, charming natural scenery of the Tua Chua stone plateau.
