Upholding the qualities of a soldier of Uncle Ho
Upholding the qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers," promoting the tradition of "Loyalty - unity - exemplary conduct - innovation," closely following the leadership of Party committees at all levels and the guidance of the higher-level Veterans Association, during the past term, the Nghệ An Veterans Associations at all levels have comprehensively and effectively implemented tasks, achieving many outstanding results.

From 2022 to June 2025, the organization spearheaded the development of 345 "Effective Mass Mobilization" models, coordinated the training and recruitment of 2,574 new Party members. Simultaneously, it participated in 747 monitoring activities on the implementation of political tasks and 249 critical review sessions led by the Vietnam Fatherland Front. Through these efforts, it contributed to improving the quality of mass mobilization work at the grassroots level and strengthening the close relationship between the Party, the government, and the people.
In the "Building New Rural Areas and Civilized Urban Areas" program, the Women's Union at all levels participated in undertaking 1,864 projects, worth 55,732 million VND. Member families donated 332,257 m² of land; contributed over 291,000 man-days of labor; over 6.6 billion VND in cash and over 30 billion VND in other materials.

Over the years, the Veterans' Association has propagated and encouraged its members to uphold the spirit of self-reliance and self-improvement; and promoted the emulation movement "Veterans helping each other reduce poverty and excel in economic activities". Businesses, cooperatives, production groups, farms, and family farms, with 617 economic models owned by veterans, have provided regular employment for nearly 70,000 workers.
For impoverished members, the association at all levels consistently provides support such as capital, plant seeds, and livestock to help build effective production and business models. Compared to 2022, the poverty rate decreased by 0.92%, while the rate of well-off and wealthy households increased by 1.19%. Additionally, 599 dilapidated and temporary houses were demolished; of which, veterans helped each other demolish 118 houses, worth 4,980 million VND.
In particular, in 2025, the Nghe An Provincial Veterans Association mobilized donations and directly went to the flood-affected areas to deliver dozens of gifts worth a total of 370 million VND to families whose houses were swept away.

Veterans are also a core force in movements such as "National Unity for Building a Culturally Rich Life," "National Security Protection," and "Gratitude and Repayment." Veterans at all levels have organized numerous activities including visiting martyrs' cemeteries and memorials, and giving gifts to "Heroic Vietnamese Mothers" on holidays and Tet (Lunar New Year), with a total expenditure of 6.7 billion VND.
Every year, the Provincial Veterans Association successfully completes its tasks. In particular, in 2023, it achieved outstanding results and received the Emulation Flag from the Central Committee of the Vietnam Veterans Association. In 2024, it received the 5-year Emulation Flag (2019-2024) from the Central Committee of the Vietnam Veterans Association; two Certificates of Merit from the Provincial People's Committee; and the Emulation Flag from the Prime Minister.

Regarding the direction and tasks for the 2025-2030 term, the comrade emphasized five key issues. Among them, the most prominent is improving the quality and effectiveness of movements launched by the Central Association, linking them to the practical implementation of campaigns at the local level. In the context of implementing a two-tiered local government model, all levels of the association need to focus strongly on the grassroots, closely adhering to political tasks to carry out practical and in-depth programs and activities.

At the same time, focus on replicating successful production and business models, supporting members to escape poverty sustainably, especially in remote areas and areas inhabited by ethnic minorities.
At the same time, we must consistently pay attention to and care for the strengthening of the Association's organizations at all levels. We must focus on developing new members in accordance with Conclusion No. 196-KL of the Politburo and the Association's new charter.
Speaking at the congress, Comrade Hoang Nghia Hieu, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, also acknowledged the outstanding achievements of the Veterans Associations at all levels in Nghe An province after 36 years of development and growth, especially during the 7th term.

Entering a new term, the comrade outlined five key issues. Among them, he expressed his hope that the Provincial Veterans Association would continue its mission as a pioneering soldier on the silent front, participating in protecting the Party's ideological foundation. He also hoped they would effectively carry out their duties of social supervision and criticism, contributing to building a cleaner and stronger Party and government.
At the same time, as members and core forces of the Provincial Fatherland Front, all levels of the Association need to focus on further promoting the work of mobilizing all strata of the people to comply with and effectively implement the policies and guidelines of the Party and the State.

Continue to encourage and support pioneering members in patriotic emulation movements, striving to overcome poverty and achieve legitimate wealth; build a team of Association officials capable of meeting the demands of the new situation.
The Congress elected the Executive Committee of the Provincial Veterans Association for the eighth term with 31 members and a delegation of 11 members to attend the 8th National Congress of the Vietnam Veterans Association.
Major General Nguyen Sy Hoi - Member of the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Veterans Association, Chairman of the Nghe An Provincial Veterans Association for the 7th term, was re-elected as Chairman of the Nghe An Provincial Veterans Association for the 8th term.
The congress concluded with the unanimous adoption of the Resolution of the 8th Congress of the Nghe An Provincial Veterans Association, which sets forth many groundbreaking goals, targets, and tasks for the new term.
