The fourth National Press Award for Anti-Corruption and Negativity

Comrades Nguyen Trong Nghia and Do Van Chien presented A prizes to representatives of authors and groups of authors who won A prizes.

Attending the event were Party Central Committee Secretaries Nguyen Trong Nghia, Head of the Central Propaganda Department, Member of the Central Steering Committee on Anti-Corruption and Anti-Negative Practices; Do Van Chien, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; former Chairmen of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front: Pham The Duyet, former Standing Committee Member, Standing Member of the Politburo; Nguyen Thien Nhan, former Politburo Member, former Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; Comrade Le Quoc Minh, Party Central Committee Member, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association ; Party Central Committee members, representatives of relevant departments, ministries, branches and units.

Speaking at the ceremony, comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia emphasized: The work of building and rectifying the Party and the political system, and fighting against corruption and negativity is led and directed by our Party and State with high political determination, increasingly drastic according to the motto of determination, perseverance, no forbidden areas, no exceptions.

Since then, many important and comprehensive results have been achieved, contributing to maintaining political stability, promoting socio-economic development, strengthening the trust of cadres, party members and people in the Party and State, and being recognized and highly appreciated by international public opinion.

Appreciating the regular maintenance of the National Press Award for preventing and combating corruption and negativity, and warmly praising the works that won high prizes this time, comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia suggested a number of solutions to further strengthen the pioneering role of the press in the fight against corruption and negativity.

In particular, he paid special attention to the main contents: Continuing to strengthen the leadership of the Party, the management and operation of the State so that the Vietnamese revolutionary press operates in the right direction, actively and effectively participates in the fight against corruption and negativity; promoting coordination and companionship between the Vietnam Fatherland Front and all levels, sectors and press agencies.

Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department Le Quoc Minh and Vice President and General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Nguyen Thi Thu Ha (6th and 7th from right) presented certificates to representatives of authors and groups of authors who won the B prize.

Along with that, it is necessary to strongly promote the role and social responsibility of journalists in the fight against corruption and negativity as well as the role and responsibility of press agencies and the Vietnam Journalists Association in protecting the legitimate rights and interests of journalists and members in preventing and combating corruption and negativity.

In addition, there needs to be a timely and appropriate mechanism for rewarding, encouraging, motivating and honoring press agencies and journalists who have a spirit of dedication and actively contribute to the fight against corruption and negativity.

Deputy Head of the Central Committee for Mass Mobilization Pham Tat Thang and Minister, Chairman of the Ethnic Committee Hau A Lenh presented certificates to the representatives of the authors and groups of authors who won the C prize.

According to the Organizing Committee, after 2 years of implementation, there were a total of 1,078 valid works from 121 press agencies nationwide submitted to the Award in 4 categories: print, electronic, radio and television.

In the spirit of democracy, objectivity, impartiality and high responsibility, the Organizing Committee conducted a careful selection and unanimously selected 54 excellent works to award 4 A prizes, ten B prizes, 12 C prizes and 28 consolation prizes. Of which, Nhan Dan Newspaper won one B prize and one consolation prize.
