Awarding over 1.6 billion VND in Talent Encouragement Scholarships to students overcoming difficulties

The Scholarship for Talent Promotion of Ho Chi Minh City Association for Promotion of Education is also known as "1&1 Scholarship", "Scholarship from the heart"

On October 27, the Ho Chi Minh City Association for Promotion of Education celebrated the Traditional Day of Promotion of Education and awarded Scholarships for the 2024-2025 school year to 318 students with difficult circumstances who have excelled in their studies. The total value of the scholarships this school year is more than 1.6 billion VND.

The HCM City Association for Promoting Education's Scholarship for Talents is also known as "1&1 Scholarship", "Scholarship from the Heart". This scholarship is implemented in the way that a benefactor (individual or organization) sponsors a student. The benefactor will sponsor the scholarship for that student throughout their university studies.

Ms. Le Minh Ngoc, former Permanent Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City Association for Promotion of Education, awarded scholarships to students in difficult circumstances receiving them for the first time.

Looking back on the 24-year journey of accompanying students to overcome difficulties, Mr. Ho Phu Bac, Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City Association for Promoting Education, said that to date, the Talent Promotion Scholarship has supported 2,789 students with a total amount of more than 27.8 billion VND.

"This year, 84 students who received scholarships have graduated, including 4 students with excellent grades and 10 students with good grades. Witnessing them grow up and graduate with high achievements, those of us who work in education promotion are very happy," Mr. Bac expressed.

Those studious students who overcame difficulties have grown up to become doctors, teachers, engineers, business owners, and key officials in Ho Chi Minh City. Among them, 3 are PhDs, 75 are masters, and 2 were voted as outstanding young citizens and outstanding young teachers of the city.

According to Mr. Bac, this is a very humane scholarship. Because most of the benefactors who are supporting and helping the students were students who received support from this scholarship fund in previous years.

In the 2024-2025 school year, 77 students received the "1&1 Scholarship" for the first time. Of these, 9 students are from poor households, 39 students are from families that encourage learning, 3 students are ethnic Chinese... In addition, 241 students continue to receive scholarships in the following times (from the 2nd to the 6th time).

"1&1 Scholarship" has been highly appreciated by the Vietnam Association for Promoting Education , awarded the national scholarship award for its initiative and successful and effective organization of the 1&1 Scholarship program model.

At the ceremony, Associate Professor, Dr. Truong Thi Hien, Vice President of the Vietnam Association for Promoting Education, hoped that after Ho Chi Minh City, other provinces and cities would also implement the scholarship model of "the predecessors welcome the successors", so that all students have the opportunity to go to the lecture hall to realize their dreams.
