- Charming women of Ca Mau
Through Executive Committee meetings, branch and association activities and taking advantage of social networking platforms such as Zalo, Facebook, Fanpage... specialized pages and columns such as: "Women and children - Remembering Uncle Ho's teachings" of Tan Thanh ward women, "Telling stories and following Uncle Ho's example" of Ward 7 women... are maintained regularly, with rich content, associated with major holidays of the country and the Association.
Typically, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and the reunification of the country, the city's women's associations at all levels published meaningful articles such as "The Great Victory of April 30 and Uncle Ho's teachings", quoting touching stories from books, such as "Uncle Ho visited the poor", "Must study hard"... helping Uncle Ho's simple image and kindness continue to be engraved in the minds of Ca Mau women.
Ms. Vo Bich Thuy, President of the Women's Union of Ca Mau City, affirmed: "Learning from Uncle Ho is not through great deeds, but from the small things in daily life." From that awareness, the union at all levels has encouraged members to follow Uncle Ho's example in speech, behavior, and frugal and humane lifestyle.
Many effective models were born and replicated such as: "3 know, 2 support", "Savings help you overcome difficulties", "Piggy bank", "Godmother", "Support to go to school", "Donate scrap - Give millions of love"... Activities to take care of physical and mental health were also promoted, through folk dance, sports , health care, and art clubs...
As a result, the specific actions have brought about practical significance: each year helping about 19 women escape poverty, sponsoring 27 orphans, building 7 "Warm Houses of Love" houses, giving dozens of scholarships, bicycles, notebooks to students in difficult circumstances. Thereby, strongly promoting the spirit of mutual love in the community, contributing to stabilizing life, building happy families, promoting local socio-economic development.
Women of Tan Thanh ward collect scrap to sell to raise funds to support poor children and orphans.
Typically in Tan Thanh ward, learning and following Uncle Ho's example has also been concretized through many exciting emulation movements. 100% of the branches effectively implemented the contents associated with regular activities, in easy-to-understand and intuitive forms through leaflets and illustrations. Many practical models such as "Charity rice jar", "Zero-dong Tet market", "Zero-dong Ao Dai stall", "Saving piggy bank", "1+1", "Each branch, one activity per week"... were implemented effectively and synchronously. With the theme "Learning and following Uncle Ho on self-reliance and aspiration to develop the country", the branches have established 7 revolving savings groups, helping more than 500 members with a total revolving capital of over 3.5 billion VND.
Social security work is always focused on: more than 1,300 gifts, hundreds of books, notebooks and other gifts were given to members and disadvantaged children. The "Godmother" program in Tan Thanh ward is regularly taking care of 9 orphans due to the Covid-19 pandemic and other special circumstances. Models such as "House of saving 100 VND", "Women collecting scrap", "Carrying bags to the market"... are both humane and contribute to protecting the environment and building a civilized lifestyle.
The highlight of the Association's activities is the special page "Women and Children - Remembering Uncle Ho's teachings", published on the 19th of every month, to share meaningful stories in the book "Uncle Ho with Women and Children". These contents are posted on the Association's Fanpage and Zalo group. Thereby, contributing to spreading beautiful images and educating life ideals for the young generation.
For women in Tan Thanh ward, learning and following Uncle Ho is not a formality, not for achievements but must come from respect and love for Uncle Ho, carried out with all the heart and the meaning of compatriots. The "Godmother" program implemented by the Women's Union of Tan Thanh ward has been bringing profound humanistic meaning, accompanying and caring for 9 orphans due to the Covid-19 pandemic and other causes.
Ms. Vo Hanh Tham, Vice President of Women's Union of Hamlet 1, Tan Thanh Ward, is a typical example in studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style. Ms. Tham shared: "Since joining the Union's work, I have had access to many programs to study and follow Uncle Ho's example organized by the Women's Union of the ward. Through the activities and classes, I deeply feel the value of simplicity, thrift and love for people that Uncle Ho set an example for."
Ms. Tham has mobilized the women in the neighborhood to join the model of collecting scrap to raise funds. Every week, she rides her bike everywhere to collect plastic bottles, scrap paper and unused items. Each month, the model collects about 300,000 VND. The money from the sale is used to organize activities for children in difficult circumstances such as giving Mid-Autumn and Christmas gifts and plans to open savings books for the children. The main thing is to create awareness of saving, loving and living for the community.
Ms. Huynh Thi Vis Phuong, President of the Women's Union of Tan Thanh Ward, emphasized: "I learn from Uncle Ho from the simplest things, living simply, knowing how to save and always thinking of others. Every week, I voluntarily spend 30,000 VND to raise a piggy bank, saving up to do charity work or help members in difficulty."
This spirit is spread throughout the Association, contributing to arousing the spirit of mutual love in the community.
Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style have become the guiding principles for the actions of each cadre and member of the Women's Union of Ca Mau City. The union at all levels is actively building the image of Ca Mau women in the new era: "Knowledgeable - Moral - Healthy - Responsible", making an important contribution to the development of the homeland in the period of integration and innovation.
As Uncle Ho once advised: "The beautiful landscape of Vietnam is woven and embroidered by our women, whether young or old, together to make it more beautiful and radiant" - this is not only a belief but also a sacred call, adding motivation for women in Ca Mau City to continue to rise up, promote their qualities and intelligence, join hands to build the city to be more civilized, affectionate and sustainably developed.
"Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style are precious spiritual heritages of our nation. Promoting the tradition and achievements, in the coming time, the Women's Union of Ca Mau City will continue to promote propaganda, maintain and expand practical and effective models of activities, so that studying and following Uncle Ho's example will spread more and more widely to every cadre, member, woman and people in the whole area" , said Ms. Vo Bich Thuy, President of the Women's Union of Ca Mau City.
