Over 500 million VND in prize money for the 2025 National Table Tennis Championship

On May 12, the organizing committee of the 2025 National Table Tennis Championship held a press conference to inform about the tournament.

The Nhan Dan National Table Tennis Championship has been held annually since 1982, and is the most important tournament of the year for Vietnamese table tennis.

The 2025 National Table Tennis Championship has the participation of more than 200 athletes from 21 professional delegations across the country, including strong centers such as: Hanoi, Hai Duong , Ho Chi Minh City, Khanh Hoa, Army, Hanoi Police T&T... The professional quality of the tournament promises to be high with the participation of the country's top players, along with young talents who have just won international achievements.

Athletes will compete in 7 categories: men's team, women's team, men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles and mixed doubles. The total prize value of the tournament is up to 500 million VND, with prizes for the team, men's singles and women's singles being 50 million VND and 30 million VND respectively for the champions.

Answering Tuoi Tre Online 's question at the press conference about selecting athletes for the national team in 2025 from the national tournament, Mr. Phan Anh Tuan - in charge of table tennis, Department of Physical Training and Sports said:

All the strongest Vietnamese table tennis players will be present at the tournament such as: Tran Mai Ngoc, Dinh Anh Hoang, Nguyen Khoa Dieu Khanh, Nguyen Duc Tuan, Nguyen Anh Tu... After this tournament, the department will select the strongest squad for the national table tennis team to participate in international tournaments in 2025, focusing on the 33rd SEA Games taking place in December.

It is expected that the Vietnamese table tennis team will be trained in China for 1-2 months to prepare for the 33rd SEA Games. This is considered a very difficult SEA Games for Vietnamese table tennis. Countries are investing heavily.

Recently, Vietnamese table tennis has had impressive achievements such as: 2024 Southeast Asian women's singles gold medal of Nguyen Khoa Dieu Khanh; Southeast Asian U15 men's doubles gold medal of athlete pair Tuan Anh - Duc Viet; gold medal at the 2025 US Open Table Tennis Tournament of siblings Van Chi - Van Linh...

These achievements have created great motivation for athletes ahead of the 2025 national tournament.
