Chinese President Xi Jinping appreciated Nepali Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli's strong commitment to promoting bilateral relations and affirmed to strengthen strategic cooperation between the two countries.

At a meeting in Beijing on December 3, President Xi Jinping expressed his appreciation for Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli's efforts in developing friendship between the two countries and affirmed that China is willing to work closely with Nepal to promote a long-term strategic partnership for common development and prosperity.
During his first official visit to China, Mr. KP Sharma Oli discussed with President Xi Jinping the direction of cooperation in the fields of infrastructure connectivity, trade and industrial development.
On this occasion, Beijing announced a non-refundable aid of 500 million yuan to Nepal, and pledged to support the country in exporting goods to the Northeast Asian country's market.
The visit comes as the two sides seek to promote projects under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
The two countries agreed to sign memorandums of understanding on developing infrastructure connectivity, trade andeducational cooperation, and enhancing people-to-people exchanges.
