On the afternoon of June 15, Vietnam Electricity (EVN) updated information on the temporary suspension of positions for officials under EVN's management. Specifically, Mr. Nguyen Duc Ninh was temporarily suspended from the position of Director of the National Power System Control Center to serve the specialized inspection work in the management and operation of electricity supply.
Accordingly, the group affirmed that this temporary suspension does not affect the management and operation of the national power system. Currently, due to the peak power supply situation and many difficulties, the operation of the power system requires high concentration and continuous stressful work.
"Meanwhile, the specialized inspection of power supply management and operation over a period of about 2.5 years also requires the preparation of documents and direct reporting, which also generates a huge amount of work," EVN said.
Therefore, the General Director of EVN has decided to temporarily assign Mr. Vu Xuan Khu, Deputy Director of the National Power System Control Center, to perform the duties and responsibilities of the director of this center from June 15 until a replacement decision is made by the competent authority.

The National Power System Control Center (A0) was established in 1994, under the Ministry of Energy, with the core task of commanding and operating the power production, transmission and distribution system in the National Power System.
A0 currently has a dispatch center headquartered in Hanoi , other dispatch centers are located in A1 in the North, A2 in the South and A3 in the Central. A0's total staff is currently 454 people, of which 91% have university degrees or higher and direct production forces (accounting for 62% of the total workforce, or about more than 280 people).
Previously, from June 10, a specialized inspection team on EVN's electricity management and supply from January 1, 2021 to June 1 was established, including leaders of the Electricity Regulatory Authority, the Electricity and Renewable Energy Authority, the Department of Industrial Safety Techniques and Environment, the Legal Department, the Ministry Inspectorate, the Department of Planning and Finance, the Department of Oil, Gas and Coal.
The inspection team was asked to clarify the supply and proactive provision of fuel for power plants; operation of the power system; mobilization of power sources (technically), fairness; power transmission issues; and implementation of mobilization of transitional renewable energy sources.
