The first university to announce its benchmark scores has withdrawn it.

This university announced the admission benchmark for 2025, but then decided to withdraw it when the Ministry of Education and Training increased the virtual filtering by 4 times.

Hung Vuong University, Ho Chi Minh City, announced the 2025 admission benchmark scores based on high school graduation exam scores at noon on August 20, becoming the first university in the country to announce benchmark scores.

The admission score for Hung Vuong University in Ho Chi Minh City in 2025 ranges from 15 to 20 based on high school graduation exam scores. Out of 19 majors with 50 training majors, Psychology recorded the highest admission score of 20, Law group was 18 and the remaining majors were at 15 points.

However, after the Ministry of Education and Training announced an additional 4 virtual filtering times, this school decided to withdraw the benchmark score and postpone the announcement of the first round of regular university admission scores to August 22.

After 6 virtual filtering rounds and the final announcement of the benchmark scores on the afternoon of August 20, the Ministry of Education and Training decided to adjust the admission and virtual filtering plan for 2025. The Ministry said that in 2025, the number of candidates registering for university and college admission will be higher, and it will also be the first year that colleges will participate in the admission process, there will be no more early admission, and all admission methods will be used in the first round.

The Ministry decided to extend the time for organizing the admission examination and processing of applications on the system and increase the virtual filtering by 4 times. Thus, there will be a total of 10 virtual filtering times, instead of 6 times as initially announced.

A series of universities expected to announce their benchmark scores on the afternoon of August 20, such as: Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, Ho Chi Minh City University of Education, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Law, Nha Trang University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry... all postponed the announcement of benchmark scores to August 22.
