Information from the National Economics University said that in 2024, admission will no longer be based on academic records, with half of the quota reserved for admission based on certificate scores and separate exams.
The enrollment plan announced by the National Economics University on the afternoon of December 28 shows that in 2024, the school will enroll 6,200 students.

Of which, the school will directly recruit 2% of the total quota, 18% will be for the method of considering the 2024 high school graduation exam scores. The remaining 80%, the National Economics University will recruit in combination according to its own project.
Compared to 2023, the graduation exam quota has decreased by 7%, this number has been transferred to combined admission. Thus, in four years, the National Economics University has reduced the graduation exam quota from 70% to 18%.
With the combined admission method according to a separate project, the school divides candidates into two groups, shortened compared to five groups in 2023.
Group 1 includes candidates who register for admission based on SAT or ACT scores; HSA and APT scores of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City National Universities; TSA scores of Hanoi University of Science and Technology; or a combination of English certificate scores and one of the three types of test scores mentioned above. The quota for this group is 50%.
Thus, the National Economics University no longer recruits students based on academic records. In previous years, this group of candidates accounted for about 10-15% of the target. This is also a popular recruitment method in most universities.
With the above project, it can be seen that the National Economics University gradually reduces its dependence on high school results in admission and stops considering transcripts for students of specialized schools.
According to the school representative, the removal of the review of academic records for specialized schools is to limit fake applications. Because most students admitted by reviewing their academic records also pass the admission results using foreign language certificates.
