Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education unexpectedly admits many majors from 15 points

The Admissions Council of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education has announced the threshold to ensure input quality (floor score) for considering the 2023 high school graduation exam scores.

Accordingly, the minimum score for admission to the school this year is 3 levels: 19, 17 and 15 points.

Of which, 2 majors accept applications with scores of 19 points or higher: English pedagogy (general) and technology pedagogy (general).

Besides the minimum score of 17, many majors of the school only accept applications with a score of 15 or higher.

Notably, this year, the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education was assigned by the Ministry of Education and Training 42 quotas for the technology education major. In addition to considering the high school graduation exam scores, the school announced that it would accept applications for this major based on the academic records of students with 12th grade academic performance ranked as excellent or higher or with a graduation score of 8.0 or higher.

Previously, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education announced the admission scores for regular universities through direct admission, priority admission, high school transcripts and competency assessment exam scores. Some majors have admission scores of 28-29 points/3 subjects.

Last year, the first round of the high school graduation exam standard score of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education was quite high. The average score of candidates admitted to the school last year was 24.3. The number of majors with admission scores above 24 was 24, of which 16 majors had admission scores above 25. The highest score was information technology in the general system with a standard score of 26.75. Therefore, this year, the school announced the minimum score for receiving applications for high school graduation exam scores for many majors at 15, which was quite surprising.
