The Hanoi Department of Education and Training has just sent a document to the Departments of Education and Training of districts, towns and affiliated units on strengthening security, order and traffic safety during the holidays and the Lunar New Year 2025.

Units and schools are responsible for directing and implementing disease prevention and control work; ensuring food hygiene and safety in schools. In particular, the document emphasizes that schools must take measures to protect students’ health when the weather turns cold, limit outdoor activities on very cold days, etc.

Previously, many parents whose children study at Bui Thi Xuan Primary School (Lien Chieu District, Da Nang City) were also upset when students of this school had to take off their warm coats and sit in the middle of the yard to attend a thematic activity. The school explained that because the program of the thematic session included a school-wide performance, students needed to wear uniforms to perform together, creating uniformity and solemnity.

"After receiving comments from parents, the school board held a meeting to review and learn from experience," said the principal of Bui Thi Xuan Primary School.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Lich, Head of the Department of Education and Training of Lien Chieu District, also informed: “After a comprehensive review of the incident and the report from the school, the Department of Education and Training found that the parents' comments are necessary to ensure the safety of teaching and learning activities. The Department has also requested the school's board of directors to meet, re-evaluate and draw profound lessons,” said Mr. Lich.
