Attending the ceremony were comrades: Major General Do Dinh Thanh, Commander of the Armored Corps; Colonel Hoang Van Loi, Party Secretary, Political Commissar of the Armored Corps; leaders and commanders of agencies and functional units of the Ministry of National Defense, the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army; generals and officers of the Armored Corps and the School through the periods; leaders of local Party committees and authorities.
Delivering a speech at the ceremony, Colonel, Dr. Dang Tuan Anh, Principal of the Armored Officer School, emphasized that the Armored Officer School was originally a training battalion called Battalion 10, established under Decision No. 101/QD-QP dated June 22, 1965 of the Minister of National Defense.

During 60 years of construction, growth and development, the School has always received deep attention from the Party, the State, the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense, and the Armored Corps. The School's cadres, lecturers, students, staff, non-commissioned officers and soldiers have always fulfilled theireducational and training tasks well and excellently, closely attached to the people, and promoted the spirit of international solidarity.
Over the past 60 years, the Armored Officer School has organized 45 long-term training courses, providing tens of thousands of leaders, commanders, and armored technical officers for the Corps and the entire army, promptly meeting the requirements and tasks in each revolutionary stage; training, coaching, and fostering thousands of armored officers for the Lao People's Army and the Royal Cambodian Army.

Many comrades who have grown up from the School have become generals and senior officials holding important positions in the Party, State and Army; 7 comrades were awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces; 1 comrade was awarded the title of People's Teacher, 10 comrades were Excellent Teachers; many comrades are Associate Professors and Doctors. The School has been honored to receive many noble awards from the Party, State and friendly countries of Laos and Cambodia, notably the title of Heroic Unit of the People's Armed Forces in the Renewal Period on May 30, 2009.
Speaking at the ceremony, Major General Do Dinh Thanh acknowledged and commended the outstanding results and achievements of the Armored Officer School over the past 60 years.

The Corps Commander requested the School to continue to thoroughly grasp the viewpoints and guidelines of the Party, State, Central Military Commission, and Ministry of National Defense on military and defense tasks, Army building, and national defense in the new period; to build a comprehensively strong School that is "exemplary and typical", contributing to building the heroic Armored Corps "Once in battle, it is to win", truly a leading training center for command and staff officers of the Armored Corps at the platoon level and university level of the Army and the country.
