Hearts turn to the flood area
Before the trip, Dich Vong Hau Secondary School launched a fundraising campaign to support people in the northern mountainous provinces affected by floods. In a very short time, the campaign received strong support from staff, teachers, students and parents. Each notebook, each uniform, each gift contributed contained love, faith and the spirit of “helping each other”, which has become a fine tradition of our nation.
At the first destination - Tuc Tranh Secondary School (Vo Tranh Commune, Thai Nguyen Province) - the delegation presented practical gifts including more than 7,000 notebooks, 519 textbooks and reference books, 316 uniforms, 660 sets of school supplies, 3,000 ballpoint pens, 100 boxes of noodles, 50 boxes of milk and 7 boxes of cakes. In particular, 100 pairs of rain boots were handed to teachers and students - a simple but extremely necessary gift during the days of flooding. In addition, the delegation also awarded 31 scholarships with a total value of 35 million VND, to encourage students to overcome difficulties and excel in their studies.
At Hoa Thuong Kindergarten No. 2 (Dong Hy commune, Thai Nguyen province), the delegation visited and encouraged teachers and continued to give 20 cartons of milk, 50 cartons of instant noodles and a cash gift worth 10 million VND to support teachers and children to soon stabilize their lives and studies after the storm and flood.
Education - journey of the heart
Teacher Nguyen Thi Loan, Party Secretary - Principal of Dich Vong Hau Secondary School, shared emotionally: “ Walking through the land that has just experienced floods, seeing the clear smiles of the students, I suddenly realized that there are great lessons not in the pages of books, but in the moments of sharing. Each trip like this is not only a journey to bring gifts to difficult areas, but also a journey for us - educators - to relearn the lesson of compassion. I believe that the most valuable thing we can give each other is not material things, but faith - the faith that, no matter how many schools are swept away by storms and floods, the flame of learning and the desire to excel will never go out. And the teachers and students of Dich Vong Hau today, through each trip like this, are also growing up in love and responsibility to the community.
The fire of enthusiasm from young people
As a person who has participated in the logistics work in most of the school's volunteer trips over the years, teacher Nguyen Diem My - Secretary of the Youth Union of Dich Vong Hau Secondary School emotionally expressed: " Seeing the schools still covered in water, the hands of colleagues still patiently wiping away each trace of dry mud, I am truly impressed. Teachers in the flood area are the lights that never go out - even though they are surrounded by wind, rain, and lack of everything. Hopefully, our small hearts will add a little warmth, so that the feet standing in the midst of hardship can still stand firmly on the path of spreading knowledge, and so that students can still laugh after days of hardship. storms. ”
Message of love from students in the capital
Accompanying the teachers on the trip, Ha Quang Hung Anh - Class President of class 9A5 shared his emotions: “ Before the trip, I only heard from the teachers that the students in the flooded area had to stay home from school because the school was flooded, and all their books were wet. But when I saw with my own eyes the muddy schoolyard, and saw with my own eyes the eyes still full of anxiety, I felt very sorry for my students.
I hope that our notebooks, pencil cases and small gifts will help you have more joy to overcome this difficulty. The volunteer trip to Thai Nguyen is the second activity of Dich Vong Hau Secondary School in the 2025-2026 school year, extending the series of programs "Lighting up dreams - Steadfast steps to school" that the school has persistently implemented over the past many years. And not only handing out gifts in Thai Nguyen, but through the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, the collective of staff, teachers, parents and students of Dich Vong Hau Secondary School also continued to send more gifts to other localities heavily affected by storms and floods.
Each trip is a thread connecting hearts, connecting the spirit of solidarity between the capital and disadvantaged areas. Each charity program is also a "lesson outside the classroom" - where students learn empathy, teachers learn how to spread love, and parents witness the value of a humane education.
