According to a VNA reporter in Algiers, Algerian media on November 20 continued to report extensively on the activities of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation in the capital Algiers.
According to APS news agency, during the meeting with the President of the National People's Congress (Lower House) of Algeria - Mr. Brahim Boughali, the two sides discussed measures to promote bilateral cooperation in many fields. The two sides also reviewed the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Algeria; discussed directions to strengthen parliamentary cooperation and expand bilateral partnership, especially in the economic field.
Mr. Boughali highlighted the importance of the Declaration elevating relations between the two countries to a Strategic Partnership, affirming that Algeria wishes to develop bilateral cooperation more strongly in all fields.
He said that the 2005 Protocol on Parliamentary Cooperation between the two countries' legislative bodies continues to be a testament to the spirit of friendship and the depth of Vietnam-Algeria relations. The Algerian House of Representatives leader also highly appreciated Vietnam's consistent stance on international issues, including the Palestine issue.
Mr. Boughali said that the major economic reforms initiated by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune are creating favorable conditions for the two countries to expand economic and parliamentary cooperation. At the end of the meeting, the two sides agreed to continue to coordinate and increase delegation exchanges between the two countries' legislative bodies, contributing to promoting effective and substantive cooperation between Vietnam and Algeria.
On the same morning, President of the National Council (Senate) of Algeria - Mr. Azouz Nasri - received Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.
Speaking at the reception, President Nasri emphasized that Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's visit demonstrates the solidity of bilateral relations, which originated from what the two countries experienced together in the struggle against colonialism and to protect national sovereignty.
Mr. Nasri said that the friendship, cooperation and solidarity between the two countries were further strengthened when the two sides officially announced the establishment of a Strategic Partnership. Algeria highly appreciated the similarity of views between the two countries at regional and international forums.
The Chairman of the Algerian National Council affirmed that under the leadership of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Algeria attaches importance to developing relations with Vietnam, especially expanding economic and investment cooperation, enhancing political dialogue and promoting cultural and people-to-people exchanges, in line with the common wishes of the two countries' senior leaders.
Regarding parliamentary cooperation, Mr. Nasri emphasized that the Algerian National Assembly with two chambers always focuses on expanding the cooperation framework with the Vietnamese National Assembly, including exchanging legislative experiences and enhancing coordination in regional and international parliamentary mechanisms. He said that parliamentary diplomacy should play an active role in supporting the implementation of bilateral cooperation programs and promoting political dialogue.

Also according to APS, the Prime Minister of Vietnam on the same day received the Algerian Minister of Veterans and Meritorious People - Mr. Abdelmalek Tacherift. The Ministry's statement said that during the meeting, the two sides recalled the close historical relationship between Vietnam and Algeria - two countries that share a common past of fighting against colonialism.
The two sides affirmed their determination to continue promoting bilateral cooperation, emphasizing the importance of enhancing scientific and cultural cooperation, especially in the fields of historical research, preserving memories and conserving the heritage of national liberation struggles.
The two countries agreed to strengthen the connection between museums, historical research centers and related cultural organizations. According to the communique, the meeting demonstrated the strong friendship between Algeria and Vietnam, and reaffirmed the commitment of the two countries to pass on to the younger generations the values of solidarity and the aspiration for national liberation.
Earlier, on the evening of November 19, Al24news news channel reported that after the two sides announced the upgrading of relations to a Strategic Partnership, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated the achievements that Algeria has made in recent years, saying that this is an important foundation for the two countries to strengthen their common strength and promote cooperation for the benefit of both peoples. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that Vietnam and Algeria have reached a broad common understanding of the principles and measures to promote bilateral relations.
Meanwhile, Radio Algérienne reported that on November 19, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune received Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation at the Algerian Presidential Palace.
Mr. Tebboune introduced to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh the exhibition area in the main hall of the Presidential Palace, featuring portraits of Algerian leaders and presidents from the resistance period to the post-independence period. Afterwards, the two sides discussed measures to promote bilateral relations in many fields.
APS quoted Vietnamese Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung's statement to the press after President Tebboune received Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, affirming that the official visit of the Vietnamese Prime Minister to Algeria will open a new development phase for the traditional friendship between the two countries, while contributing to strengthening and expanding bilateral cooperation.
Minister Le Hoai Trung emphasized that Algeria is Vietnam's first strategic partner in Africa. The establishment of a new cooperation framework shows the positive development trend and great interest of both Vietnam and Algeria in strengthening relations for the common interests of the two peoples, as well as for peace and stability in the two regions.
Minister Le Hoai Trung said the talks between Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and President Tebboune took place in an atmosphere of friendship and trust, achieving many substantive results. The visit, he said, will contribute to further strengthening political, economic, cultural cooperation and people-to-people exchanges between Vietnam and Algeria in the coming time.
Minister Le Hoai Trung also highly appreciated the mutual support of the people of the two countries throughout historical periods, affirming that this is a solid foundation for continuing to expand Vietnam - Algeria cooperation in the future./.
