Binh Trieu 1 Bridge officially opened to traffic after raising clearance by more than 1 meter

On the morning of November 23, Binh Trieu 1 Bridge on National Highway 13 (Binh Thanh Ward) was officially opened to traffic after nearly 3 months of banning cars to increase clearance. The project helps ships travel more safely and reduces congestion at the northeastern gateway of Ho Chi Minh City.

The project to raise the clearance of Binh Trieu 1 Bridge will start construction at the end of 2024 with a total investment of 133 billion VND. The entire length of 554 m of the bridge will be raised by more than 1 m, helping to clear the waterway across the Saigon River. The ban on cars crossing the bridge from August 26 until now has caused traffic jams on National Highway 13, Pham Van Dong Avenue, and Binh Trieu 2 Bridge - the main routes leading to the city center.
