With the spirit of sticking to reality, Binh Thuan Newspaper has introduced hundreds of typical examples of ethnic minorities overcoming difficulties, starting businesses, spreading positive lifestyles. Such as the story of Mr. Ba Dinh Trang, a Cham farmer in Phan Hoa commune (Bac Binh). From a poor household, he boldly applied a multi-cropping economic model with 4 hectares of rice, yielding 7 tons/ha thanks to the application of technical advances. With accumulated capital, he opened a fertilizer agency, provided new varieties, and linked technical training with the Commune Farmers' Association. At the same time, he invested in building a birdhouse and created jobs for 16 local workers. Not only did he strive to get rich legitimately, Trang also supported poor households by sharing seeds, materials, and production experience. Trang's story of overcoming difficulties when published in the "Ethnicity and Development" section of Binh Thuan Newspaper inspired many people. "When the newspaper published it, many people came to learn about the model. I felt proud and had more motivation to do business," Trang shared.

Not only good farmers, but also prestigious people in the ethnic community are often honored by Binh Thuan Newspaper. Mr. Mang Mu, a prestigious person in Dong Me village, Duc Thuan commune is a typical example. Despite his advanced age, he still diligently knocks on doors to persuade people to comply with policies, propagates in community festivals and accompanies the government in building new rural areas. "If we want people to trust us, we must set an example first," he said simply.

"Bridge" of policies with ethnic minorities

Not only setting a good example, Binh Thuan Newspaper also actively promotes and contributes to preserving the cultural identity of ethnic minorities. On traditional festivals such as Kate Festival of the Cham people following Brahmanism, Ramuwan Festival of the Cham people following Bani religion or Dau Lua Festival of the Raglai people, reporters are present at the base to record the beauty of beliefs and community activities, and at the same time reflect the attention of local authorities in caring for the spiritual life of the people.

Or in highland communes like Phan Dung (Tuy Phong), many articles in Binh Thuan Newspaper also contributed to bringing policies closer to the people, introducing effective agricultural and forestry extension models, helping people access loans and convert suitable crops. Many people, after reading news and articles about typical examples of effective use of preferential credit policy capital, boldly borrowed capital, proactively changed their way of doing business, and improved their lives.

The provincial press is also an important propaganda channel in implementing the National Target Programs on new rural construction and sustainable poverty reduction in ethnic minority areas in the period (2021-2025). Articles reflecting the transfer of technical advances, effective production models, vocational training, etc. have contributed to raising awareness and arousing the spirit of proactive development of ethnic minorities. In addition to economic development, many press works also participate in mobilizing people to abandon backward customs, push back the situation of early marriage and consanguineous marriage; encourage children to go to school at the right age, and provide vocational training orientation for rural youth.

To continue to improve the effectiveness of propaganda, so that the press can reach ethnic minorities better, the press agency and the provincial press team determined to make continuous efforts to innovate content and form. In particular, focusing on improving the quality of news, articles that are concise, easy to understand, closer to the customs and psychology of readers; the form needs to be beautiful, clear, suitable to the identity and information access needs of the people. With the efforts of the press team and the attention of all levels, the press in general and the local Party newspaper will continue to be the "bridge" between policy and life, accompanying ethnic minorities in the journey of economic development, preserving culture and building an increasingly better life.
