Following the merger, My Thoi ward's area expanded, bordering many other areas, creating numerous potential security and order issues. In light of this, the local Party committee and government have consistently focused on implementing various preventative measures. While previously, public awareness campaigns were primarily conducted through loudspeakers, community meetings, and leaflet distribution, the ward's police force has now proactively innovated its approach to engaging residents. One notable initiative is the establishment of community Zalo groups in each residential area. Local police officers, in coordination with neighborhood committees, visit individual households to encourage and guide residents to participate, thus creating a direct and rapid connection between residents and the police force.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Quang Vinh, Head of My Thoi Ward Police, said that currently, most people use smartphones and social media. Taking advantage of this, the deployment of a community Zalo group helps people provide many valuable sources of information on security and order, supporting the police force in promptly detecting and preventing incidents. At the same time, the ward police are also promoting the use of the security and order reporting and suggestion feature on the VNeID application, helping to report crimes quickly, securely, and safely.

Currently, the entire ward has established 30 community Zalo groups with over 1,500 members. Every day, the local police force regularly updates information on security and order, fire prevention and control, as well as warnings about the methods and tactics used by criminals, especially those involved in theft and fraud via cyberspace. At the same time, relevant legal regulations concerning conditional business sectors are also promptly disseminated.

Captain Trinh Van Kiet, a police officer from My Thoi Ward Police Station, shared: “To improve the effectiveness of propaganda, Zalo groups are divided according to each neighborhood and field, such as: Party branch groups, social policy groups, residential area groups… This grouping helps information be conveyed to the right audience, quickly and effectively, contributing to raising people's awareness and vigilance.” Local residents expressed their agreement and support for this model. Mr. Mai Tan Phuoc, residing in Thoi An A neighborhood, said that thanks to regularly monitoring information on the groups, people are able to promptly grasp recommendations on security and order, fire prevention and control, and proactively disseminate this information to their neighbors. As a result, the security and order situation in the residential area is always maintained.

According to Ms. Vuong Mai Trinh, Chairwoman of the People's Committee of My Thoi Ward, the application of Zalo in crime prevention and control brings many practical benefits. It serves as an effective bridge between the government, the police force, and the people. Through it, warning information is quickly disseminated, and people can promptly report unusual incidents and provide images and videos to assist in the handling process. To ensure the model's sustainability, the local government advises people to use social media appropriately, refrain from posting false information, and avoid sharing unverified content, contributing to building a healthy information environment.

With the synchronized involvement of the entire political system and the consensus of the people, the Zalo community model is proving to be clearly effective, becoming an "extended arm" of the police force in ensuring security and order. When each citizen raises their awareness and proactively participates in providing information, the nationwide movement to protect national security will spread even more widely, contributing to maintaining peace in every neighborhood.
