NDO - The Science and Technology Week and VinFuture Awards Ceremony 2024 chose the message "Resilient Breakthrough", with the meaning that through the door of science and technology, humanity resiliently breaks through difficulties to build a more prosperous life.
VinFuture Foundation officially announced the schedule of the Science and Technology Week and VinFuture Awards Ceremony 2024, taking place from December 4-7, 2024 in Hanoi, Vietnam. This is a series of international events, gathering many outstanding names in the world in key fields such as materials science, artificial intelligence, air pollution and environmental research...
In particular, the highlight of the event series is the Ceremony to honor scientists with outstanding achievements, who are contributing to the lives of millions, even billions of people on earth.
Entering its fourth year, the VinFuture Science and Technology Week and Awards Ceremony has made its mark as one of the most anticipated annual events in the global Science and Technology community.
This year, VinFuture chose the message “Resilient Breakthrough”, with the meaning that through the door of science and technology, humanity resiliently breaks through difficulties to build a more prosperous life.
The week includes 4 main activities: “Science for Life Seminar”; “VinFuture Future Discovery Dialogue Series”; “VinFuture Award Ceremony”; and “Interaction with the 2024 VinFuture Award Winner”.
The series of events kicked off with the “Science for Life” seminar, taking place over two days, December 4-5, with four sessions: “Materials for a sustainable future”, “AI implementation in practice”, “Air pollution and traffic: Opportunities and challenges for Vietnam and the world”, and “Innovations in cardiovascular health care and stroke treatment”.
The scientific seminar series brings together speakers who are world-leading scientists such as Professor Yann LeCun (Vice President and Director of Artificial Intelligence Science at Meta, and Silver Professor at New York University-NYU, USA); Professor Seth Marder (Director of the Institute for Renewable and Sustainable Energy - a joint organization between the University of Colorado-Boulder and the US National Renewable Energy Laboratory - NREL); Professor Yafang Cheng (Director of the Department of Aerosol Chemistry at the Max Planck Institute for Chemistry, Germany) and Professor Valery Feigin (Professor of Neurology and Epidemiology, Director of the National Institute for Stroke Research and Applied Neuroscience, Auckland University of Technology, New Zealand)...
VinFuture Science and Technology Week attracts the attention of many university students. |
Along with scientific seminars, the “VinFuture Future Discovery Dialogue Series” will be an important bridge to connect the world's leading scientists with research institutes, universities and businesses in Vietnam.
The dialogues will focus on finding solutions to global challenges and promoting research collaboration such as “New approaches to control and regulate hypertension”; “Sustainable farming techniques adapting to climate change”; “Innovations in solar energy and advanced materials engineering”; and “Women scientists for a sustainable energy and green future”…
On the evening of December 6, the VinFuture Awards 2024 - the highlight of the global scientific community - will officially take place at the Hoan Kiem Theater. This is an important moment to honor breakthrough inventions and technologies, selected from nearly 1,500 research projects nominated by more than 9,000 partners from more than 80 countries and territories around the world.
Immediately following the Award Ceremony, the event “Hello Future: Meeting with the 2024 VinFuture Prize Winners” will take place all day on December 7. Here, the prize winners will spend the morning sharing their extensive knowledge and inspiring stories about their research journey with the public and the Vietnamese scientific community.
The afternoon will feature presentations on scientific topics for outstanding young scientists and businesses interested in applying research results into practice.
Another special highlight of this year’s event series is that for the first time, VinFuture Foundation has honored scientists who are the official nominating partners of the Prize. These are scientists who have provided important support in identifying, nominating and honoring works and technological solutions that have a great impact on humanity. The scientists will share their motivation to nominate for the Prize, convinced by the broad vision and noble mission that VinFuture is aiming for.
After 4 years of operation, the VinFuture Prize has increasingly affirmed its position as one of the world's leading prestigious science awards with a vision similar to other long-standing prestigious awards. The Prize is not only a bridge between the world's outstanding intellectuals and the domestic scientific community, but also plays an important role in promoting, inspiring, and motivating the development of the country's science and technology.
