On June 18, according to information from Nhon Trach District Police, Dong Nai Province, the unit detained Ho Sy Son (40 years old, residing in Trang Dai Ward, Bien Hoa City) to investigate the act of extortion.

In June 2020, Ms. T. had to return to her hometown to live, so she texted Son to break up. Wanting to hold on to their relationship, Son threatened to post nude videos and photos of Ms. T. on social media.

At her boyfriend's request, Ms. T. went to a motel in Phu Cat district (Binh Dinh province) to meet Son and delete these "hot" photos and videos. However, as soon as Ms. T. left, Son restored the video and 3 nude photos of Ms. T. that had been deleted earlier. After a while, Son continued to send photos and threaten, but Ms. T. did not respond.

In early June 2023, Son sent sensitive photos to Ms. T's friends' Facebook. Then, Son asked Ms. T. to give him 15 million VND.

On June 11, Ms. T. transferred 5 million VND to Son. After that, Son continued to ask Ms. T. to meet and give him the remaining amount.

On June 13, when Son made an appointment to meet Ms. T. at the gate of Company K. (Nhon Trach 6 Industrial Park) and was receiving 5 million VND, he was caught red-handed by the police force of Nhon Trach Industrial Park Station.
