Tung Duong is passionate and melancholy in the song 'Hanoi at the changing of seasons'

“Hanoi at the changing of seasons” is the voice of a person who loves Hanoi passionately, borrowing beautiful memories of the past to express his love and belief in the elegant and luxurious capital.

“You have passed through my life and what remains/ Turns into moss on the moonlit street roof” – those are the romantic and haunting lyrics of poet Hong Thanh Quang combined with the lyrical melody of musician Nhuan Phu. Everything is sublimated, touching the hearts of listeners thanks to the voice of Tung Duong with the music video “ Hanoi at the changing season night” released on October 20.

Coming from the emotional harmony and love for Hong Thanh Quang's romantic poems, musician Nhuan Phu created lyrical and profound melodies. She also boldly included a Rap part with the breath of life and contemporary music , creating a surprising and interesting highlight for the song.

The MV is like a slow-motion film, returning to Hanoi of the old years. There are “witnesses of the glory of the past” and “sinners who broke each other’s hearts.” Throughout the MV, one can see familiar images of Hanoi such as Long Bien Bridge, Hanoi Railway Station, Hanoi University, a villa with ancient French architectural imprints, moss-covered walls…

Singer Tung Duong said “Hanoi at the Seasonal Night” is one of the beautiful songs about Hanoi, bringing the “Pho Phai” color clearly into music.

“Through her music, musician Nhuan Phu has always shown herself to be a person who loves her homeland and the place where she lives. Her compositions contain profound contemplations about life. The richness of her language has given her wings when writing music,” Tung Duong shared.

Musician Nhuan Phu is Tung Duong's cousin. When the male singer was young, his parents went abroad to work, and he was raised by his two paternal uncles (musician Nhuan Phu's parents). Therefore, the two siblings had a wonderful childhood, playing together and sharing their passion for art.

“My parents and Nhuan Phu’s parents are both teachers. We both share a passion for art and the greatest luck for us is that we have a young grandfather, the late musician Tran Hoan, who is an example for us to follow on the path of continuing the artistic tradition of our family and clan. I believe that Nhuan Phu will become more and more mature in her music writing, with many good works on many different topics,” Tung Duong confided.

For her part, musician Nhuan Phu shared that Tung Duong was the "teacher" who taught her the first musical notes, from solfege, music appreciation, vocal techniques... and then she studied with singer Minh Anh of the 3A trio group to take the entrance exam to the Hanoi College of Arts.

Moved after hearing Tung Duong sing this song, poet Hong Thanh Quang said that musician Nhuan Phu had led his poetry down a new path.

“Perhaps only a woman’s heart can fully understand the love I have for Hanoi, the love that Hanoians have for each other. My poetry is the true voice of humanity, it is very difficult to put that ultimate truth into music, but Nhuan Phu can compose the music and Tung Duong can sing it. I watched this MV and tears kept flowing. Going through the ups and downs of life, I understand how ‘sinners break each other’s hearts’ are. When all the excitement is over, what remains is understanding,” poet Hong Thanh Quang confided.

On this occasion, musician Nhuan Phu also released the MV “Beloved Mother” expressing the love and infinite gratitude of a child to his mother. This song was performed by singer Do To Hoa. Both MVs were directed by Tran Xuan Chung./.

Musician Nhuan Phu was born in 1981, the nephew of musician Tran Hoan. Together with her cousins, such as Meritorious Artist Trong Thuy, Meritorious Artist Minh Quang, singer Tung Duong, singer-songwriter Tang Duy Tan, etc., she has continued the family's artistic tradition.
