Tung Duong - one of the influential artists of contemporary Vietnamese music - has just become the first Vietnamese artist to be honored by the Music Awards Japan (MAJ 2025) in the International Special Awards category, marking a proud milestone for him personally and for Vietnamese music on the international map.

On the evening of May 11, the MAJ 2025 Organizing Committee announced the list of award-winning artists, in which singer Tung Duong was named in the International Special Award category, one of the prestigious awards for international artists with special influence in the music field. This is the first time a Vietnamese artist has received this award.
The awards ceremony will honor Japanese and international music artists in 60 award categories. According to information from the Organizing Committee's website, the International Special Award category selects influential artists from 6 countries: China, Korea, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines and Vietnam.
This event aims to promote musical connections between Japan and several Asian countries. The official event took place at the ROHM Theater Kyoto on May 21-22, broadcast live on NHK and broadcast globally on YouTube.
According to plan, Tung Duong will go directly to Japan to attend the award ceremony at the invitation of the organizing committee.

Tung Duong is not a strange name in Vietnamese music life. With more than 20 years of artistic activities, he is considered one of the most influential singers today.

Tung Duong affirmed that during more than 20 years of pursuing art, he has never stopped trying to renew himself and contribute to spreading the value of Vietnamese music.
"I believe that music is the common language of humanity, a bridge between cultures. And I am happy that Vietnamese melodies can resonate on the international stage," said the male singer.
Tung Duong also did not forget to send his deep thanks to the Devotion Music Awards, which has accompanied and recognized his efforts over the past two decades.
"The Dedication Cups are not only titles but also motivation for me to persevere on my artistic journey," Tung Duong expressed.
With the mark of international awards, Tung Duong once again affirms his position in Vietnamese music - a person who constantly innovates, creates and inspires the young generation of artists.
