
The funeral of People's Artist The Hien, the talented musician whose songs have been with us for many years, took place in a solemn and emotional atmosphere at the Southern National Funeral House. Many artists, colleagues and fans came to say goodbye to him, expressing their endless condolences.

People's Artist The Hien (full name Lai The Hien), born in 1955 in Nam Dinh and raised in Ho Chi Minh City, has left behind a huge musical legacy with many works depicting the image of soldiers, mothers and ordinary but resilient lives. He is affectionately called by the public as "the musician of soldiers" thanks to his compositions associated with the image of Uncle Ho's soldiers, Truong Sa soldiers and the love of the Fatherland's sea and islands.
The funeral for People's Artist The Hien will begin at 2:00 p.m. on October 4 at the Southern National Funeral Home (Hanh Thong Ward, Ho Chi Minh City). The memorial service will take place at 7:00 a.m. on October 7.

Artist Quyen Linh, who was present very early, could not contain his emotions when he wrote in the condolence book: "My dear brother, so we will no longer have the opportunity to sing "Nhung Lan Rung" together. I love and miss you forever." He also shared about the special song of the program "Vuot Than Tam" that the two of them came up with the idea for, the song that "braved the sun and rain for more than ten years on all roads of the country to spread positive energy in life."

Artist Thanh Loc also sent a message full of regret: "I bid you farewell, together with the Wild Orchid Branches, to the new world following God's call. I wish you peace and fulfillment."

Next to the coffin at the funeral was a guitar and a series of portraits with a bright smile, recalling the familiar image of musician The Hien. He often brought his singing to serve officers and soldiers in many units, from border areas to remote islands and was also the musician who visited Truong Sa island the most with 6 times.

Musician Lai The Bao Huy, son of People's Artist The Hien, quietly stood beside the coffin of his beloved father.

During his composing career, musician The Hien has released about 150 songs, the most famous of which are: "Nhanh lan rung", "Toc em doi ga", "Chuyen nguoi doi", "Hoa niem dau yeu", "Doi cho trong con mua"...
With his great contributions to the country's art, musician The Hien was awarded the title of Meritorious Artist in 2012 and People's Artist in March 2024.

Relatives, colleagues and friends could not hold back their emotions when standing next to the coffin of musician The Hien.

In the solemn funeral atmosphere, many visitors could not help but feel moved. In front of the portraits and musical pieces on display, they felt like they were reliving memories of the past.

The passing of People's Artist The Hien leaves a huge void in the country's musical life. The public has lost a talented, dedicated and passionate artist.

The coffin of musician and People's Artist The Hien will be brought back to Binh Duong Cemetery for burial.
